3. The purpose:
This study investigated the gap that exists between the
technological knowledge and skills preservice teachers
possess and their confidence in using them to successfully
integrate technology in their classrooms.
Participants
Twenty-six preservice teachers seeking certification in the
elementary education program participated in this study.

4. Two surveys were developed for this study.
- Survey one, self-reported Technological
Proficiency and Confidence Level for classroom
integration (TPCL).
- Part A (34 questions) measures the technology
proficiency level of the preservice teachers.
- Part B (7 questions) measures how confident the
preservice teachers believed they were in
successfully integrating specific technology
practices into classroom instructional methods.
