The teacher will ask for ten students to volunteer. Each student will be given a
piece of paper with a part of a sentence. They will each find the other half of the
sentence to complete it.

a. Activity
The class will be divided into four (4) groups. Each group will present their activity.
Group 1: Underline the subordinate clause and write letter S above it. Discuss the two
types of clauses.
ï· Because he ran, he was able to catch the bus.
ï· As the lights dim, I will say goodbye.
Group 2: Underline the main clause and write letter M above it. Explain the two types
of clauses.
ï· Wherever he might go, I will follow him.
ï· If the dress is on sale, she will buy it.
Group 3: Underline the subordinate clause and write letter S above it. Discuss the two
types of clauses.
