4. The accumulation of harmful substances on the ground, water and air causes
Pollution.
The transformation of some landscapes into desert areas when the soil
becomes dry and poor is called Desertification.
Excessive development, hunting, fires and other actions cause Extinction of
Animals.
Habitat Loss occurs when natural areas are destroyed to make room for
housing or industry.
Disappearance of forest, cutting down of trees, pollution and fires cause
Deforestation.

o Water Pollution – due to discharge of untreated industrial wastes and
other unsafe substances into water bodies
o Air Pollution - because of uncontrolled release of harmful industrial
and vehicular smokes into the air.

o Global Warming - The excessive emission of greenhouse gases has
caused an increase in surface temperature of planet earth and
ultimately leading Global warming.

animal health

surge in greenhouse gases causing Global Warming.

and drought situation.
5. Excessive use of pesticides and contamination of soil have negatively
affected soil output.

Environment?
 Save drinking and reduce water wastage.
 Discourage use of environment unfriendly
materials such as plastic .
 Recycle waste products as far as
practicable, to make new items.
 Controlled emission of carbon-dioxide and
other greenhouse gases. Energy
conservation and Minimal use of electricity.
 Strict laws on Pollution control.
 Zero tolerance policy towards deforestation.
 Outlaw the hunting of animals.

9. Conclusion
Environmental pollution is affecting our daily lives negatively in various
aspects of life such as socially, physically, economically, emotionally and
intellectually. On one hand, the scientific inventions of man has made
human life comfortable. On the other hand, these inventions have caused
danger for the sustainability of our environment.
Contamination of the environment brings lots of diseases which human
beings may suffer their whole lives. It is not a problem of community or city,
it is a worldwide problem which cannot be solved by the effort of one. If not
addressed properly, it may end the existence of life one day.
Thus, let us all make it the responsibility of every human being to protect and
save the environment, so that the future generation may enjoy the gifts of
nature and environment.
