YouTube is a useful classroom resource that allows students to upload and share videos of their work and presentations. It is particularly helpful for physical education classes where students can watch video clips demonstrating skills for sports like touch football. However, the wide variety of videos on YouTube can also be distracting if students are working independently or in small groups. Wikipedia is also useful as it provides a broad depth of information on many topics for research assignments. While it offers instant updates on current events, inaccuracies sometimes exist since contributors are not always experts and information may not be immediately reviewed.

2. You Tube is a video blogging site in witch students can upload there own videos or watch videos made by others

3. This is a useful resource in the classroom as students can film their work or presentation and present it to the class via YouTube. Using their own editing tecqunices to self edit their work

4. YouTube becomes particularly useful in a pdhpe setting as a lot of the work is practical. Being able to watch a short clip about a topic is much more useful than reading hand outs.

5. For example when learning the rules and skills of touch football a class could use YouTube to find clips with skill demos in them.

6. BUT… Although YouTube is a valuable and practical learning tool for most hands on subjects. The wide range of videos on YouTube make it easy for students to get distractive from the learning task when working by them self or in small groups.

7. Wikipedia An online encyclopaedia in which web surfers contribute to an ever expanding body of knowledge.

8. One of the reasons Wikipedia is useful in the class room is that it is its self a reference that contains great depth of information.

9. For example If students were to do an assignment on their favourite sport it is very easy for them to navigate around a broad body of knowledge about the sports teams, athletes and history of the sport. Making it a useful tool for younger students who are not experienced in web based research.

10. Another positive of Wikipedia is the instant reference. When news breaks, for instance on major news stories Wikipedia starts uploading almost immediately .

11. Inaccuracy is the major flaw with Wikipedia as those who contribute are not always experts on the subject. And it can take some time before their information is reviewed and withdrawn if inaccurate.
