Project 5 the house of the muslim 2016

1. Context The city of Antwerp wants to create an Islamic centre that addresses the whole
Muslim community in Antwerp and would be an attractive alternative for the current “informal”
mosques. This should be a place where Muslim and non-Muslim citizens (young and old)
can meet, play and learn from each other.
Join us to empower the brainstorm on the strategy for this process, together with the wide
diversity of stakeholders in Antwerp: identify the tangible needs, objectives, possible
threats/opportunities and the best way to ‘sell’ this concept to all citizens of Antwerp.
There is also an architectural design dimension included in this project.

2. Goal? Strengthen the strategic management process that aims to elaborate a concept for an
islamic centre that appeals to the whole Muslim community in Antwerp. Refine and adjust the
existing plans of the previous EPS project team 2015, based on further research with the different
stakeholders. Create a tool that helps to ‘sell’ the idea to the citizens of Antwerp.
Where? In Antwerp, in collaboration with the city of Antwerp and its stakeholders: socio-cultural
and religious associations.
Who? Students with a for diversity, religion and strategic management and with a study background in
