The Institution of Lighting Professionals unites the skills of
engineering, design and technology in order to deliver quality lighting
for the built environment and achieve public benefit.
In setting and establishing standards for good practice, the
Institution seeks to ensure that its members attain and develop the

Working on exterior and interior projects, in public spaces,
workplace, leisure, retail and residential applications, members of the

The Institution of Lighting Professionals is an educational charity and
our main focus is on individual members. That means we focus on
YOU not your company.
We offer a variety of CPD training courses, technical advice and up-
to-date information, helping you build & further your career and
encourage you, so you feel more competent in your job role.
We also hold and support various events around the country, bringing
together, like-minded people in the lighting industry who can then
share information, ideas and most importantly, build a network of

18. YLP – Young Lighting Professionals
The YLP was set up in April 2009 to encourage young members of the lighting
profession to get involved with the Institution of Lighting Professionals. Their

industry to help them progress in their career. The YLP also run 5 technical
sessions throughout the year aimed at YLP members.
