‘homework’ In British English, homework is work that pupils are given to do at
home. You say that pupils do homework. You do not say that they
‘make’ homework.
He never did any homework.
‘housework’ Housework is work such as cleaning or washing that is done in a house.
She relied on him to do most of the housework.
WARNING Both homework and housework are uncount nouns. You do not talk
about ‘a homework’ or ‘houseworks’.
