The document discusses Mooresville Graded School District's digital conversion where they provided all 4th through 12th grade students with MacBooks and installed interactive whiteboards in K-3 classrooms. The goal was to close the digital divide and prepare students for the 21st century. The district provided extensive professional development for teachers on using new technology and digital resources in lessons. Since implementing these changes, the district has seen reductions in suspensions, improved attendance rates, and test scores gains of up to 19% across subjects. Teachers have been able to engage students in new ways and better prepare them for their future.
The latest statistics from WeChat place its monthly active users (MAU) at 700million, with audiences visiting the application upwards of 30 times per day.
While follower numbers for most brands continue to grow, the honeymoon appears to be over. Signs are starting to emerge that follower growth rates for brand accounts are slowing.
At the same time, the government has started to apply pressure to regulate H5 apps built onto WeChat. And Tencent itself is applying greater control over brand activities.
Brands will have to employ more effective content strategies on WeChat moving forward. In this presentation we share our tips to help brands continue to grow by attracting/retaining audiences on WeChat.
A presentation to the San Jose State University Library faculty and staff about the Open.Michigan initiative and how it ties into supporting access to low/no cost resources in the classroom and focuses on participation in education.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
