2. Voki
• I love to use Voki in my presentations and to explain
assignments to my students.
• The students love to use it to give me feedback on
assignments and to respond to constructed response
questions and math writing prompts.
• Voki classroom charges a small fee for 100 students for a
year, but I can manage it better.
• The students love the avatars and they can add voice to their
assignments.
3. Secondlife
• I think Secondlife should be used with more
mature people.
• I really don’t care to use it with middle school
students because I can’t manage it.
• It allows you to live out some of your
fantasies, but you have to be careful in this
type of setting.
4. WIMBA (Blackboard)
• I like this website because it is similar to Moodle.
• It can be used for web conferencing, virtual
classrooms, webinars, professional development, and blended learning.
• iPhones and iPads can be used for mobile collaboration as long as it has
3G and Wi-Fi.
• Students can participate, they have break out rooms for group
work/discussions, and it has classroom management tools.
• Impromptu meetings can be held
• One-on-one collaboration such as desktop video conferencing with the
professor and student-to-student interaction
• I would definitely use this website with my students.
5. WIMBA continued
• Has voice authoring which can be used for personalized
coaching, give voice feedback, facilitate language study (use
with ELL students).
• Has threaded voice boards, voice enabled
email, podcasts, and can do voice presentations
• Students can do group discussions and debates with the voice
authoring tool.
• Teachers can add voice commentary on assessments and
assignments
• I like how voice authoring allows the user to add a personal
touch to their work.
6. Google
• I like the different features of Google.
• I focused on Goggle chat for this assignment.
• I like how Google chat allows you to chat face
to face with up to nine people and share your
screen during the session.
• This is a good feature, but I will have to set
guidelines for the students and model my
expectations.
7. Skype
• I like how Skype allows free video calling, the
use of cell phones and landline phones.
• I can invite guest speakers to my class, and I
am not limited due to location of the guest.
• My students can also see what goes on in
other classrooms around the world.
• Skype is an awesome tool for classroom use.
8. Adobe Connect
• I like the features of Adobe Connect, but I
would definitely like more training on using it
effectively.
• I love how Adobe Connect can be used
anywhere, anytime, and on any device.
• I can create and present engaging lessons
while managing the class with the
management and tracking tools.
•
9. Moodle
• I would love to use Moodle at my school. It is similar to the
Edline program that my district uses, but I think Moodle is
more user friendly and its free.
• I can extend learning anytime and anywhere.
• I can also do more interactive online learning activities with
my students.
• I like how I can put everything on one page for Moodle rather
than having the students to go to different locations in the
program to access their information.
