2. Employees Provident Fund (EPF), generally known as PF is a retirement
benefit scheme available to the salaried class in India, wherein both the
employer and employee contribute an equal amount towards the fund.
This year, the EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organization) has
introduced an e-passbook facility for members, which enables them to
check their PF account online.
3. What is an EPF e-passbook?
The EPF e-passbook is an online version of
the employee’s provident fund account.
Transactions are recorded date-wise and
these can be tracked easily by the member.
You can check your EPF balance online
anytime you wish to.
4. How to register online?
Registration on the EPFO website is
necessary to avail the e-passbook facility.

VISIT THE EPFO MEMBERS SITE –
http://members.epfoservices.in/
6. CLICK ON THE “REGISTER” AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE
OR “CLICK HERE TO REGISTER” BUTTON UNDER THE
LOGIN AREA.
7. Click on the link “Member Portal”. This link will take you to the member
portal where you have to register yourself first by entering some basic data
like your mobile number, Date of birth, email etc. and click the button
“Get Pin”.
8. You will get a PIN code on your mobile number which
will be like “1234”. Enter the PIN code at the end of the
registration page after “Enter Authorization PIN” and
submit the page to complete the registration process.
9. On successful registration you will receive an
SMS on your registered mobile phone.
10. HOW TO GENERATE E-PASS BOOK ONLINE
After successful registration you can login to the EPFO member
portal by entering the document number you selected at the time
of registration like “PAN Number” and your “Mobile number”.
11. Now you can download your EPF Passbook
(E-Passbook) by clicking on the Download E-Passbook
link on the top of the page.
12. Now select the state where your establishment is covered like Andhra
Pradesh, Delhi, Kolkata, Bihar, Haryana, Karnataka, Orissa, etc.
On selecting State you will see a list of establishments on your screen. Select
the establishment code where your EPF office located.
13. Enter you EPF account number, your full name (as per EPF records) and click
on the ‘GET PIN’ button. You will receive an another PIN code on your
mobile number.
14. Enter the PIN that you have received on your mobile phone in the
“Enter Authorization PIN” text box and click on the GET DETAIL
button.
15. You will be able to see your EPF details if that data is available to
EPFO else a message will be displayed on your screen “ Your e-
passbook not available”. To get the details of your EPF account click on
the link “Send request to get your e-passbook”.
16. Then system will display a pop up message asking you to
confirm your request. Click yes to get the details of your EPF
account.
17. Then a system generated message will ask you to visit
your account after “3 days” to get your EPF details.
18. The EPFO’s e-Passbook facility is a welcome move
which will enable employees in managing their EPF
accounts in a better manner. The success of this facility
depends on the efficiency of the EPFO in managing the
website and handling requests from the members.
