CORPORATION (NRDC)
• Non-departmental government body
• Established by British govt in December 1953 to transfer technology
from public sector to private sector.
• It is a premier knowledge transfer organization (KTO), working under
administrative control of department of scientific and industrial
research, under Ministry of Science & Technology GOI.
• Was established to commercialize, develop and promote
development of indigenous technologies, inventions, patents from
national R&D institutions, individual inventors and universities.

network and industry in the country.
• Most imp function- to make sure that worthwhile invention, be
it from national lab, pvt inventors, small firm or budding
innovator in university, did not go unnoticed and unrecognized.

5. OBJECTIVES OF NRDC:-
• To promote, develop, nurture and commercialize innovative,
reliable and competitive technique from R&D institutes through
value addition and partnership.
• To sensitize R&D institutions and industries about technology
that needs to be developed and commercialized.
• To install and work pilot, proto-type, or semi-scale unit or full
commercial plants to develop a particular invention/inventions
and ensure production from such invention to sell or otherwise
dispose of the products of such inventions or payment as per
the terms and conditions.

6. • Spend money in experimenting on testing & in improving or
seeking to improve any patent, rights, inventions, discoveries,
processes or information.
• To develop and exploit patents and inventions by general or
special agreement by universities, research institutions or
individuals.

• Forged strong links wit scientific and industrial community in

9. Typically NRDC would patent the product for commercial
exploitation and earn royalties as private sector companies
generated sales from those products.

11. TBSE
• Provides platform where small enterprises can tap
opportunities at global level for acquisition of technology or
business collaboration.
• It is a result of joint initiative of United Nations APCTT and
Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) established
in 1995.
• Established to bring synergy of technology and finance under

12. • It also receives partial funding from the Office of DC (SSI), GOI.
• It makes available services to facilitates transfer of technology
and joint venture collaborations.
• As on March 2001, the Bureau has received 474 technology
requests and 1087 technology offers.

I. Technology information:-
Has a large computerized data base on technology
optionsavailable from different countries.
Gives the user update information on sources of technologies
and means of accessing them.
Maintain background information on technology seeking
enterprises and made it available to technology suppliers and
collaborators.

16. II. Identification of suitable collaborating partners:-
Identifies business partners willing to collaborate.
It bring the willing partners face to face and extends
support to tie up financial assistance and other
requirements for transfer of technology and joint
ventures.
Collaborating partners are further assisted in drafting
agreements, obtaining various approvals and
preparation of business plans.

17. III. Finance syndication:-
Depending on the cost of project, nature and quantum
assistance required, the Bureau undertakes financial syndication
through SIDBI covering term loans, venture capital, lines of credit
and on selective basis interest free loans to meet initial
expenditure in the pre-technology absorption stage.

18. IV. Business collaborations:-
It support to small enterprises for the export of technologies and
the products manufactured by them through business tie-ups as a
part of the package.
To promote international cooperation amongst SMEs, the Bureau
organizes overseas visits of business delegations.
V. Support services:-
Arranges consultancy services, visits of overseas experts for in-
plant counseling.
Coordinates buyer-seller meets for specific product process
technologies.

32. SIDBI
• A development financial institution in India
• Headquarter at Lucknow
• Established on 2/April/1990, through an Act of Parliament and
operates under the Dept of Financial Services, GOI.
• Primarily focuses on the promotion and development of the
MSME sector and promotes energy efficiency .
• In order to increase and support money supply to the MSE
sector, SIDBI lends directly to MSMEs .

33. OBJECTIVES:
• To strengthen the MSME sector by facilitating cash flow by
assisting MSMEs and to get funds for the development,
commercialization and marketing of their innovative
technologies and products.
• For the orderly growth of industry in small scale sector, four
basic objectives are set out in the SIDBI charter; they are
Financing, Promotion, Development and Co-ordination.

• SIDBI offers customized financial products under several loan
schemes and provides services to meet the demands of various
business projects.
• Bank helps micro, small and medium enterprises acquire the
funds they need in order to grow, develop market and

(SSI), and other service sectors including transport, health care,

category, SIDBI will help in the right way.

37. • Collateral Free: entrepreneurs can get up to Rs. 100 lakhs
without offering collateral. This is done through the
establishment of Trust called Fund Trust for Micro and Small
Enterprises.
• Venture and Equity funding: SIDBI has a wholly owned
subsidiary called SIDBI Venture Capital Limited that can provide
growth capital in the form of quity through venture capital
funds that are focused on MSMEs.
• Government subsidiaries: SIDBI has a wider understanding and
in-depth knowledge of loans and available schemes that have
concessional rates and relaxed terms offered by Government .
