Global Entrepreneurship Week will take place from November 16-20 at the Cambridge International School and involve entrepreneurial challenges and events for students happening simultaneously in over 150 countries. Events include DECA's Idea Challenge where students develop a new use for a mystery item in eight days and present a marketing video, the Paper Clip Challenge where items are traded up from a paper clip to raise money for charity, and the GEMS Entrepreneurship Fellowship Programme where student teams develop business concepts to pitch to judges for cash prizes. The goal is to allow students to make friends, have fun, and discover their entrepreneurial abilities through these competitive events.

2. What is GEW?
• Fun entrepreneurial challenges for students
• GEW will take place from November 16-20th
• These events happen at the same time in 150
different countries!

• Allows you to:
- Make new friends
- Have fun
- Discover your entrepreneurial abilities
- Win exciting prizes!

4. DECA’s Idea Challenge:
• Competition that challenges YOU to find a
new use for a common, everyday item in eight
days.(Earlier items were plastic bags and cans)
• Teams of 3-4.
• Share your results in a 3-min marketing video
• Item will remain a mystery until announced by
DECA on November 14, 2014.

5. The Paper Clip Challenge:
• The Paper Clip Challenge involves ‘up-swapping’
goods.
• It will start from a paper clip and- if you’re
lucky and clever enough- it can end up as
something amazing like a bicycle or even a
house!
• Final traded item to be auctioned for charity

6. GEMS Entrepreneurship Fellowship
Programme
• Teams of 3-6
• Develop a business concept and present to a
panel of staff
• Top two teams to move forward to the next
round of the competition.
• The top 5 final inter-school teams will be given
AED 5000 per team by GEMS to progress their
business concepts.
• First round: 16th – 20th Nov.
