Suppose you have some opinion regarding a
topic and you want to tell people about it. How
will you do so?
You can tell your opinion to people near you.
What if you want to tell not only those people
but, say, general public… How will you do so?
ARTICLE
An article is a piece of writing written for a
large audience. The main motive behind
writing an article is that it should be
published in either newspapers or magazines
or journals so as to make some difference to
the world.
It may be the topics of interest of the writer or
it may be related to some current issues. The
topic can either be serious or not-so-serious;
Same goes for its tone and language.
FORMAT
GENERAL GUIDELINES
FOR ARTICLE WRITING
Find the objective or aim of writing the article
Always study the given input, information or notes
carefully.
Gather as much information as possible. Also,
identify the details that are most significant.
Arrange them in a systematic order.
Develop each point in a simple, grammatically
correct language.
Your article must present your ideas not in a
sketchy but in a coherent and logical manner.
Develop your writing into paragraphs.
Confine yourself to the given subject. Superfluous
Some useful tips to know:
Use a catchy title to get the people interested.
Use facts or quotes related to the topic
Ask direct questions to get the readers’ attention.
Use opinion adverbs to introduce your points such
as generally, occasionally, personally speaking, in
my opinion etc.
Give a real-life example or talk about personal
experience
Divide your ideas into clear paragraphs
It has to be interesting!
Write a good and logical ending.
