2. 5S is the name of a workplace organization method that uses
a list of five Japanese words: seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, and
shitsuke. Translated into English, they all start with the letter
"S".The list describes how to organize a work space for
efficiency and effectiveness by identifying and storing the
items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining
the new order.The decision-making process usually comes
from a dialogue about standardization, which builds
understanding among employees of how they should do the
work.

• To maintain a high standard of workplace organisation by
keeping everything clean and orderly at all times.
• Sometimes translated as "sweep"
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace
organization at all times

• Maintain everything in order and according to its standard

• Prominently display a picture or diagram showing the proper
layout of the workspace

• Basic knowledge of ‘5s ‘ was taken from the Mr .Lal Keerthi
Gunawardana by for us.
• The 5s committee members of the company was joined with
us .
• After that we studied the on going situation of the company
at that time.
• And also we studied about the 5s with help of other sources.
• When we study about the situation we saw that 5s concept is
already used in the company but it was not activated properly
• Then we searched what are the reason for the
unsuccessfulness of the 5s concept in the company

of 5S main committee .

and red tag and yellow tag to the remove in future
• When we started 5s concept again, a 5s manual book was
given to the 5s committee member of the company .

duties quickly.
