Essay on Self-Analysis
Self–Analysis
Before taking this course my writing styles and habits were very different. I was the typical
procrastinator because I would wait until the night before a paper was due to start it. This did not
allow me enough time to properly proofread everything, which resulted in getting points deducted for
simple grammatical errors that could have been avoided if I would have had the time to proofread.
My writing styles have many strengths and weaknesses and I have been able to improve my writing
because of them. I have learned from my strengths and weaknesses how to become a better writer.
In my writing, I have many strengths, some that which I have developed through this course and
some that I already had. Before this...show more content...
I can write a thesis that will give an overview about what main topic of the paper is and what other
elements will be addressed in the paper. From taking this course I have been able to improve
many of my weaknesses, but there are still some that I need to work on. Overall I am becoming
better at not procrastinating as much as I used to. This class has helped me to learn to take the
little steps along the way because then there will not be as much work to do towards the end.
This has also made me realize that the final product of my writing will turn out better because it
will have had more time to develop, which means that there would have been more opportunities
to proofread. I think by learning many styles of writing, such as paraphrasing, summarizing,
analyzing, and researching; it has enabled me to be able to write more broadly. By knowing how
to correctly use all of these kinds of writing styles, it will help me in the future for other classes
because I will have the knowledge that I need to write these types of papers. I still procrastinate
sometimes, but not as much as I used to. I will be able to improve on this as time goes along
because I will become more motivated by seeing the end result, which usually would be better
grades.
Overall I think that my most of my writing habits have improved and for the ones that have not I
know what they are and what I need to do to improve them. My strengths that I already had as

Project Analysis
Methodology
The project is addressed as an analytical site–specific based, that focuses to create a stronger
coherence between public life with plans for existing building structures. The design approach for
this project is studio experimentation. Through action and reflection process, the practice works in
relation to extrapolate probability and plausibility for Sydney urban public space – as a metaphor of
improvisation. This method includes observation, computer modelling, and 3d models/maquettes.
First, the observation is conducted in several Central Sydney's laneways. And it is used for
acquiring primary data to understand the context, and to aware of our creative process (Carole Gray
& Julian Malins, 2004). This method assists in the...show more content...

laneway–to–laneway experience. Through this research, it forms self–observation through analysing
and planning by researcher's experiences of being in the world itself. The observation has become
an extension of the visual memory (Setha Low 2003).
As a result, the observation has led to an experimental assessment of the laneways. This findings

this project has taken more in–depth site analysis and measurements of laneways in Central Sydney.
In particular, in the area of Martin Place, Wynyard, and Circular Quay. And focusing on York Lane,
Bridge Lane, Abercrombie Lane, Custom House Lane, Loftus Lane, and Phillip Lane. All this lane
illustrates the most similarity of its system and structural components (figure 5).

For examples, the laneway is consists as connected lanes with one lane and another. It has the
similarities in width and length, and pedestrian steps are needed to walk in a laneway. Moreover, it
contains same furnishings and amenities, and a similar pattern of building structures. Therefore, it
has set–up a framework and working dimension for experimentation of the object system, and its
attachments to the laneway.

Macbeth Analytical Essay
In an effort to achieve, it is often in literature that the protagonist learns to accept his or her currently
fortuitous circumstances and rather than ambitiously seek what he or she wants, the protagonist
acquires what they need. This is a way in which an author can teach a moral lesson about the ill fate
of those bridled by ambition, hubris, greed, etc., without being overtly sententious. Shakespeare,
whether by intention or coincidence, wrote in a similar sense in regards to some of his most famous
and renowned tragedies. Often his works reflect a sense of morality, though rather than the
protagonists realizing the mistakes, their flaws become fatal and only after their actions take their
grievous course do they acknowledge their misjudgements....show more content...
Hamlet, one of Shakespeare's most beloved protagonists, shares character traits with well crafted
villains. Though he is supposed to be a tragic hero, he wittingly and cruelly hurts the people close
to him in his despair and thirst for revenge. Towards the end of the play he claims he loved
Ophelia more than her own brother did, a brother who did not play with her emotions and use her
for his own gain and bloody goals. Even if Hamlet did truly love Ophelia, he manipulated and
viciously abused her feelings, trust, and confidence, something one would find in a
power–imbalanced relationship where one is a villain and the other a victim. His downfall,
though, is his play at madness. He chooses to donne a facade of insanity in order to take revenge
for his father's sake, but meanwhile compromises his authority and ability to be taken seriously.
Had he rather been subtle and not abrasively distance himself from every potential ally, perhaps he
would not have met such a gruesome end. His own actions and selfish willingness to do anything to
satisfy his own lust for revenge was the direct cause of his death. His brash murder of Polonius, his
alienation of Ophelia, his disturbing confrontation and aggression towards his mother all lead to his
death and the death of other innocent people. Again, Shakespeare has

Hamlet Conflict
"Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.–Confucius" For as long as humans
have lived with each other on this earth there has been conflict and war between us all whether it
was because of resources, money, and or power someone has killed someone to get what they
wanted even if they had to kill their only brother to get it.This is what happened in the story of
Hamlet, Hamlet's father was killed by his uncle; Claudius presumably because he wanted to be king
himself and to marry his brother's wife. This made Hamlet depressed and miserable because his
father died and his mother married his uncle straight away. Then later on in the story theghost of
hamlets father shows up and tells him that his uncle Claudius killed him. At first Hamlet was very
calm and rational about the whole ordeal, he even made a plan to try and see if the ghost was
telling the truth. However once he found out that the ghost was indeed telling the truth hamlet
started to obsess more and more over killing Claudius that he didn't care who he had to kill or who
he had to hurt in order to kill him. This was very obvious in the scene where hamlet accidently
killed Polonius. "Help, help, ho!...show more content...

more like his own personal vendetta to kill Claudius and exact his own style of justice in other

Analytical Essay: The Issue Of Obesity
Obesity is huge problem in the twenty–first century, but the people that have control over this do not
care. In a materialistic society, money is everything. In food corporations, it appears that profit is
also everything. Of course, this applies to their marketing strategies. Corporations have to be more
for the consumer, or else they would have no business. However, consumers are still being tricked
by these corporations. Granted that many corporations may offer low prices, decent tasting products,
and great inventory of product, consumers fall for this as opposed to other products that are much
healthier. It should not be this way. The activities offood and marketing corporations must change in
order for the issue of obesity to change for the better. The attitude of marketing groups is a huge
reason why obesity is such a...show more content...
Before there was a call to break these groups, the marketing world ran as it pleased. This would refer
to the years prior to the mid–1970s. It is odd how marketing was extremely laissez– faire back then,
but the majority of consumers were in rather decent health (Soechtig 2014). In fact, Katie Couric,
the narrator of Fed Up, mentions that obesity would affect only around five percent of children
during this time (2014). Still, many people saw an issue with this statistic. A separate committee in
the United States Senate worked on a plan to help tackle the way food was being processed during
the mid–1970s (Soechtig 2014). Their work was called the McGovern Report, which was named
after the committee's chairman George McGovern (Soechtig 2014). The report took note of common
dietary issues and it attempted to give better habits in eating certain processed foods. Unfortunately,
for consumers, food and marketing corporations fired back, and the original ideas to the McGovern
report were trashed. The many companies that complained realized that this report would cause a
huge loss in profit. One of the center points to

Discourses have powerful social effects and can empower some, while marginalizing others. In
the texts Lost Property and Muriel's Wedding the dominant discourse is relationship. The
audience is positioned to see Josh Tambling from Lost Property as having tough relationships as
he is the one who is expected to pull through. While Muriel Heslop from Muriel's Wedding is
portrayed as unreliable and selfish as the story is told. In the early stages of both texts it is obvious
that Josh and Muriel have different relationships, as Josh is respected and dependable while Muriel
is rejected and a failure. Josh is trustworthy towards his friends which make him respected in his
relationships. For instance, he shows his loyal and respectable values...show more content...

unfortunately with Muriel's mother dying as she commits suicide from the pressure of her
depression. But not all is bad for Muriel as she returns to Sydney with her friend Rhonda, after she
is in a wheelchair from not recovering from her cancer. Although both texts end in a different way,
the audience is still positioned to see Josh and Muriel as people who have difficult relationships but

discourse of relationships. The reader is positioned to see Josh and Muriel as being pleasing people,
who would do everything for their friendships. Throughout both texts Josh and Muriel are

Big Data and Data Analytics Essay
In today's society, technology has become more advanced than the human's mind. Companies want
to make sure that their information systems stay up–to–date with the rapidly growing technology. It
is very important to senior–level executives and board of directions of companies that their systems
can produce the right and best information for their company to result in a greater outcome and new
organizational capabilities. Big data and data analytics are one of those important factors that
contribute to a successful company and their updated software and information systems. What are

Organizations that pay attention to data flows instead of stocks are trying to enhance their brand by
using continuous data flows. Continuous flows help the performance of the company such as using
forecasting, text mining, and optimization and helps executives to make the best possible decision.
When companies rely on data scientists and product and process developers instead of data analysts
they know that data scientist will have the most knowledge and experience with information
technology (IT). In comparison with traditional analytics, data scientist have far more advanced
skills and can help to develop products and ideas whereas traditional analytics really advised the
executives about the internal portion of the company. Lastly, companies interested in big data want
to move away from the basic IT functions and closer to core business and operational functions. In
past years, the traditional way of replicating existing technologies seemed to be inefficient compared
to what big data has to offer. Another change from basic IT functions is that big data uses

Rhetorical Analysis Reflection
This semester has taught me a lot about the different types of writing. I have learned how to draft
and compose a rhetorical analysis based off of an author's ethos, pathos, and logos strategies. Not
only have I been able to critically analyze rhetorical papers, but I have been able to search for
more information to support my ideas or beliefs. Even though this can be time consuming it is
well worth it to have a lot of support and evidence to back my ideas or beliefs on a topic.
Throughout this semester I have more of a general knowledge on rhetorical goals, critical reading and
writing skills, my processes on how to write a paper, and learning a new way of creating an idea
through electronical environments. Each assignment was...show more content...
These cites that were used could be placed in my essay and the flow of the paper would not change
but keep it more organized with my thought process. From the rhetorical essay to the argument
essay, the development of my citing or using references has greatly increased. When I started
with the rhetorical essay it was difficult to understand how to cite the author's work appropriately
but when I moved to the argument essay it was almost natural when citing work. I believe this is
due to the practice that we have had in class. The strategies I find most useful when writing an
essay is having a topic that is of interest. When I wrote the argument essay, I already had a topic
that interested me from the exploratory assignment. Generating an outline was another beneficial
strategy that I had used because I could see the gaps in my writing or where my ideas did not
flow together. Once I had an outline the rough draft was easy to create. I do not mind peer review
but it becomes challenging when the person who is reading your review might not have the same
views as I do. This would mean they were over critical of the paper and made it seem like I
needed to change my entire essay to fit the standards of another classmate versus what the
assignment was about. I did receive good constructive feedback on all of the assignments, which did
end up helping me adjust portions of my writing. I do believe I am the same way to others writing

Analysis Of The Boat By Nam Le
"The Boat" by Nam Le, is a serious of short stories that while representing a number of different
themes throughout each story, the central theme regards the complicated relationship between
children and their parents, with each story examining this theme in different ways. The opening and
closing stories, "Love and Honour and Pity and Pride and Compassion and Sacrifice", and "The
Boat", not only develop the relationship between children and parents and how the child attempts to
maintain this relationship; but also how they live their lives without their parents.
"Love and Honour and Pity and Pride and Compassion and Sacrifice", focuses on the relationship
between the protagonist, who is referred to as 'Child', and his father, referred to as 'Ba'. The
opening story follows the protagonist as he is struggling to overcome writers block, whilst
dealing with his estranged Vietnamese father who is visiting. A number of flashbacks are used
as a literary device to divulge into the protagonists past with his father as well as the fathers past.
This reveals, not only an abusive past with his father, but also his father's memories of the
Vietnam war. It becomes clear that the son makes excuses for his father, with his girlfriend Linda
also noting this, "I think you're making excuses for him...You're romanticising his past to make
sense of the things you said he did to you" (pp.20). The protagonist reflects this himself, making
the excuse that "he was a soldier" (pp.13), and that is why his father treated him as he did. The
protagonist, despite once being able to admit to Linda that his father abused him, can no longer
admit this, as his relationship with his father grows, and it can be argued that he is willing to
overlook his past in an attempt to reconcile with his father. "It was too much these words, and what
connected to them" (pp.13).
Their relationship changes numerous times throughout the short story, beginning with two men
leading separate lives and being relatively unconcerned with each other, and acting more or less
like acquaintances, rather than a father and son. "At that moment I realised he was speaking to me
not as a father... but as he would speak to a friend, to anyone, and it undid me" (pp.22). However,

Website Analysis : Web Analytics Essay
Web analytics helps us to extract the data , analysis and perform report with the available data
about a particular website which helps to identify and enhance the website for existing users and
to attract new users [1] However, Web Analytics is a procedure for measuring web movement as
well as can be utilized as a medium for business and statistical surveying, and to evaluate/enhance
the adequacy of a site. For organizations utilizations of web analytics can help them measure the
aftereffects of eventual outcomes or broadcast advertising campaign. It helps one to measure how
activity to a site changes after the launch of new advertising campaign. Web analytics gives data
about the number of visitors to a site with the number of site hits. It helps measure traffic based on
demographics which is useful for market research. [2] Additionally Web analytics is regularly
utilized as a major aspect of visitor relationship administration analytics (CRM analytics). The
analysis can incorporate deciding the probability that a given visitor will repurchase an item
subsequent to having obtained it previously, customizing the site to visitor who visits over and over,
checking the rate volume of purchases made by individual visitor or by particular gatherings of
visitor, tracking their geographical locations from which the most and the minimum visitor visit the
site and purchase particular items, and foreseeing which items visitors are most and to the least

Analytical Essays On Analytical Psychology
Jung, C. G. (1972). Two essays on analytical psychology
Jung's Two Essays on Analytical Psychology includes the works The Unconscious in the Normal
and Pathological Mind and The Relation of the Ego to the Unconscious, which are 1928 revisions of
previously written papers. Jung, who was Freud's well–known disciple from 1909 to 1914, held
ideas different from Freud's and Adler's that eventually led to personal differences between them,
particularly with Freud; their followers have continued these differences. One of the point of
disagreement is Jung's opinion that Freud's concept of the libido is too concerned with sexuality
and that Adler's will to power is also too simplistic. Alternatively to Freud, he calls the libido the

On the other hand, Freud and Adler had difficulty in refusing the development of both humanity and
the individual and were rigid in their beliefs.
Jung believed that psychic energy had its foundation in the tension of opposites; this energy could
only be used when the proper gradient was found. He also introduced two very different theories of
neurosis, with the first focusing the object and the second emphasized the subject, are viewed as
manifestations of an oppositional type. The introverted personality type focuses on the subject while
the extraversion type focuses on the object; however, these two types are rare observed in their
unadulterated state. Moreover, the dynamics of a relationship between individuals who retain
contradictory personality types was examined by Jung. Alternatively, to contrast with the concepts of
Freud and Adler, they describe neuroses as sometimes allocating useful adaptive functions.
The Unconscious in the Normal and Pathological Mind
Jung considers and discusses the concept of the collective unconscious as well as its role in the
process of transference within psychotherapy. He suggests that the traditional method of dream

The Analytical And Intuitive Thinking
Introduction
There are several different types of thinking. There is analytical, intuitive, creative, logic and
rhetoric, all which are different tools in our own minds thinking tool box. They are not opposites,
but used in different situations or a combination is used together to reach the best solution to a
problem or situation. In this blog the focus will be on the analytical and intuitive thinking, but the
others will also be of use. Analytical and initiative thinking are not best used separately but are a
dynamic duo when it comes to thinking. I have selected a data set that pertains to math scores in the
New York City School Districts, in particular grades third through eighth and how the genders match
up against one another. Analytical thinking is focused on data and facts to help us reason through
information, thus we will be looking at the trends at each level over the course of six years,
2006–2011, but intuition and logic will help us connect the missing pieces as to what the data is
stating and why that is the case.

Beowulf Analytical Essay
"There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always
evil." – Ayn Rand. To fully understand the complex world and culture of the Anglo
–Saxons, one
must examine the only form of historical evidence available – texts. One particular great work from
this time period is often underrated and overshadowed in modern society by many other ancient
works such as Iliad or Oedipus Rex. The epic poem, Beowulf, was sung by multiple unknown

shaped the poem's plot, and illustrates an alien presence; something that...show more content...
Grendel's invasion of Herot symbolizes the destruction of peace and safety, and the imperfections
within the society. The twelve years Grendel had haunted Herot, "Herot stood empty, and stayed
deserted for years" (145–146) were also the twelve years Hrothgar and his kingdom suffered.
Nevertheless, when Beowulf finally eliminated Grendel, readers see a different side of Herot,
"Golden tapestries were lined along the walls, for a host of visitors to see and take pleasure in"
(995–996), the glory and grandeur was restored, all with the slaying of Grendel – an outcast of
society. The rigid and confined society of the Danes also shaped the way its people think and act,
but also influenced greatly on the writings. Given the fact that metaphors and kennings are common
in Old English literature; the representation of "evil" is also something not to be taken on a literal
level. "Edgetho had begun a bitter feud / Killing Hathlaf, a Wulfing warrior" (459–460), inter–tribal
feuds, therefore, are also a destroyer of peace. Grendel takes on a form that is left uncertain; its real
meaning hidden behind the metaphorical mask of a monster, is the never–ending battles between
tribal armies (namely, the Danes, Geats, Frisians, and the Swedes) that had disturbed the tranquility
people had longed for. It is almost a barrier of peacekeeping, hider of hope. Hence, it is represented
by Grendel, a great evil hated by many, whom

Analytical Essay On Abortion
Among issues of great contentions in the world today, including gay marriages, dress codes for both
women and men that constitute morality, divorce, HIV/AIDS as concerns new marriages, abortion
has not lagged behind.
Discussions, debates and arguments have been pressed to the fore on whether abortion should be
legalized and what kind of legal structure should be adopted. Not only has abortion been a
contentious issue on the legal forum but the argument extents to find when life begins and who has
control of life (life is defined in respect to a formed baby within the mother's womb).
There is also the aspect of unwanted pregnancies and what kind of such unwanted pregnancies
should be terminated. So far many countries have laws that allow for termination of pregnancies
when such pregnancies are medically detrimental to the existent of both the mother and the unborn
child. And of recent many countries are on the road to legalizing abortion even to women who
would consider pregnancy a state of discomfort.
Reasons that come to light in support of abortion include such reasons as unplanned pregnancies,

How Marketing Fuels the Obesity Epidemic

  • 1. Essay on Self-Analysis Self–Analysis Before taking this course my writing styles and habits were very different. I was the typical procrastinator because I would wait until the night before a paper was due to start it. This did not allow me enough time to properly proofread everything, which resulted in getting points deducted for simple grammatical errors that could have been avoided if I would have had the time to proofread. My writing styles have many strengths and weaknesses and I have been able to improve my writing because of them. I have learned from my strengths and weaknesses how to become a better writer. In my writing, I have many strengths, some that which I have developed through this course and some that I already had. Before this...show more content... I can write a thesis that will give an overview about what main topic of the paper is and what other elements will be addressed in the paper. From taking this course I have been able to improve many of my weaknesses, but there are still some that I need to work on. Overall I am becoming better at not procrastinating as much as I used to. This class has helped me to learn to take the little steps along the way because then there will not be as much work to do towards the end. This has also made me realize that the final product of my writing will turn out better because it will have had more time to develop, which means that there would have been more opportunities to proofread. I think by learning many styles of writing, such as paraphrasing, summarizing, analyzing, and researching; it has enabled me to be able to write more broadly. By knowing how to correctly use all of these kinds of writing styles, it will help me in the future for other classes because I will have the knowledge that I need to write these types of papers. I still procrastinate sometimes, but not as much as I used to. I will be able to improve on this as time goes along because I will become more motivated by seeing the end result, which usually would be better grades. Overall I think that my most of my writing habits have improved and for the ones that have not I know what they are and what I need to do to improve them. My strengths that I already had as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Project Analysis Methodology The project is addressed as an analytical site–specific based, that focuses to create a stronger coherence between public life with plans for existing building structures. The design approach for this project is studio experimentation. Through action and reflection process, the practice works in relation to extrapolate probability and plausibility for Sydney urban public space – as a metaphor of improvisation. This method includes observation, computer modelling, and 3d models/maquettes. First, the observation is conducted in several Central Sydney's laneways. And it is used for acquiring primary data to understand the context, and to aware of our creative process (Carole Gray & Julian Malins, 2004). This method assists in the...show more content... This tour became a self–walking guidance that engages researcher's movements with the laneway–to–laneway experience. Through this research, it forms self–observation through analysing and planning by researcher's experiences of being in the world itself. The observation has become an extension of the visual memory (Setha Low 2003). As a result, the observation has led to an experimental assessment of the laneways. This findings performs many similar aspects of the geometry system in Central Sydney's laneways. In Honours B, this project has taken more in–depth site analysis and measurements of laneways in Central Sydney. In particular, in the area of Martin Place, Wynyard, and Circular Quay. And focusing on York Lane, Bridge Lane, Abercrombie Lane, Custom House Lane, Loftus Lane, and Phillip Lane. All this lane illustrates the most similarity of its system and structural components (figure 5). Figure 5. Central Sydney Laneway Structure in Dimension, AutoCAD (Sherli Liu, 2017) For examples, the laneway is consists as connected lanes with one lane and another. It has the similarities in width and length, and pedestrian steps are needed to walk in a laneway. Moreover, it contains same furnishings and amenities, and a similar pattern of building structures. Therefore, it has set–up a framework and working dimension for experimentation of the object system, and its attachments to the laneway. • 3. Macbeth Analytical Essay In an effort to achieve, it is often in literature that the protagonist learns to accept his or her currently fortuitous circumstances and rather than ambitiously seek what he or she wants, the protagonist acquires what they need. This is a way in which an author can teach a moral lesson about the ill fate of those bridled by ambition, hubris, greed, etc., without being overtly sententious. Shakespeare, whether by intention or coincidence, wrote in a similar sense in regards to some of his most famous and renowned tragedies. Often his works reflect a sense of morality, though rather than the protagonists realizing the mistakes, their flaws become fatal and only after their actions take their grievous course do they acknowledge their misjudgements....show more content... Hamlet, one of Shakespeare's most beloved protagonists, shares character traits with well crafted villains. Though he is supposed to be a tragic hero, he wittingly and cruelly hurts the people close to him in his despair and thirst for revenge. Towards the end of the play he claims he loved Ophelia more than her own brother did, a brother who did not play with her emotions and use her for his own gain and bloody goals. Even if Hamlet did truly love Ophelia, he manipulated and viciously abused her feelings, trust, and confidence, something one would find in a power–imbalanced relationship where one is a villain and the other a victim. His downfall, though, is his play at madness. He chooses to donne a facade of insanity in order to take revenge for his father's sake, but meanwhile compromises his authority and ability to be taken seriously. Had he rather been subtle and not abrasively distance himself from every potential ally, perhaps he would not have met such a gruesome end. His own actions and selfish willingness to do anything to satisfy his own lust for revenge was the direct cause of his death. His brash murder of Polonius, his alienation of Ophelia, his disturbing confrontation and aggression towards his mother all lead to his death and the death of other innocent people. Again, Shakespeare has Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Hamlet Conflict "Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.–Confucius" For as long as humans have lived with each other on this earth there has been conflict and war between us all whether it was because of resources, money, and or power someone has killed someone to get what they wanted even if they had to kill their only brother to get it.This is what happened in the story of Hamlet, Hamlet's father was killed by his uncle; Claudius presumably because he wanted to be king himself and to marry his brother's wife. This made Hamlet depressed and miserable because his father died and his mother married his uncle straight away. Then later on in the story theghost of hamlets father shows up and tells him that his uncle Claudius killed him. At first Hamlet was very calm and rational about the whole ordeal, he even made a plan to try and see if the ghost was telling the truth. However once he found out that the ghost was indeed telling the truth hamlet started to obsess more and more over killing Claudius that he didn't care who he had to kill or who he had to hurt in order to kill him. This was very obvious in the scene where hamlet accidently killed Polonius. "Help, help, ho!...show more content... help, help, help! HAMLET How now! a rat? Dead, for a ducat, dead![Makes a pass through the arras]LORDPOLONIUS[Behind] O, I am slain![Falls and dies]QUEEN GERTRUDEO me, what hast thou done? HAMLETNay, I know not: Is it the king? QUEEN GERTRUDE O, what a rash and bloody deed is this!" Because of Hamlets rash decision to pull out his sword and stab through the curtain he killed an innocent man and didn't even feel any remorse about killing him he just took the body and hid it.This was no longer about avenging his father and saving his mother it was more like his own personal vendetta to kill Claudius and exact his own style of justice in other words vigilantism. • 5. Analytical Essay: The Issue Of Obesity Obesity is huge problem in the twenty–first century, but the people that have control over this do not care. In a materialistic society, money is everything. In food corporations, it appears that profit is also everything. Of course, this applies to their marketing strategies. Corporations have to be more for the consumer, or else they would have no business. However, consumers are still being tricked by these corporations. Granted that many corporations may offer low prices, decent tasting products, and great inventory of product, consumers fall for this as opposed to other products that are much healthier. It should not be this way. The activities offood and marketing corporations must change in order for the issue of obesity to change for the better. The attitude of marketing groups is a huge reason why obesity is such a...show more content... Before there was a call to break these groups, the marketing world ran as it pleased. This would refer to the years prior to the mid–1970s. It is odd how marketing was extremely laissez– faire back then, but the majority of consumers were in rather decent health (Soechtig 2014). In fact, Katie Couric, the narrator of Fed Up, mentions that obesity would affect only around five percent of children during this time (2014). Still, many people saw an issue with this statistic. A separate committee in the United States Senate worked on a plan to help tackle the way food was being processed during the mid–1970s (Soechtig 2014). Their work was called the McGovern Report, which was named after the committee's chairman George McGovern (Soechtig 2014). The report took note of common dietary issues and it attempted to give better habits in eating certain processed foods. Unfortunately, for consumers, food and marketing corporations fired back, and the original ideas to the McGovern report were trashed. The many companies that complained realized that this report would cause a huge loss in profit. One of the center points to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Analytical Essay Discourses have powerful social effects and can empower some, while marginalizing others. In the texts Lost Property and Muriel's Wedding the dominant discourse is relationship. The audience is positioned to see Josh Tambling from Lost Property as having tough relationships as he is the one who is expected to pull through. While Muriel Heslop from Muriel's Wedding is portrayed as unreliable and selfish as the story is told. In the early stages of both texts it is obvious that Josh and Muriel have different relationships, as Josh is respected and dependable while Muriel is rejected and a failure. Josh is trustworthy towards his friends which make him respected in his relationships. For instance, he shows his loyal and respectable values...show more content... Michael, Josh's older brother finally comes home, not by himself though, he ends up bringing his girlfriend and with them their new born son. "Mum and Dad, this is Kelly," Michael says proudly, "and this one here...is your grandson, Stuart." (p266). On the other hand, Muriel's Wedding ends unfortunately with Muriel's mother dying as she commits suicide from the pressure of her depression. But not all is bad for Muriel as she returns to Sydney with her friend Rhonda, after she is in a wheelchair from not recovering from her cancer. Although both texts end in a different way, the audience is still positioned to see Josh and Muriel as people who have difficult relationships but in the end rewarding. In conclusion, both Lost Property and Muriel's Wedding mobilize the discourse of relationships. The reader is positioned to see Josh and Muriel as being pleasing people, who would do everything for their friendships. • 7. Big Data and Data Analytics Essay In today's society, technology has become more advanced than the human's mind. Companies want to make sure that their information systems stay up–to–date with the rapidly growing technology. It is very important to senior–level executives and board of directions of companies that their systems can produce the right and best information for their company to result in a greater outcome and new organizational capabilities. Big data and data analytics are one of those important factors that contribute to a successful company and their updated software and information systems. What are Big Data and Data Analytics? They are moving analytics away from the IT function and into core business, operational and production functions." (Davenport, Barth, and Bean) Organizations that pay attention to data flows instead of stocks are trying to enhance their brand by using continuous data flows. Continuous flows help the performance of the company such as using forecasting, text mining, and optimization and helps executives to make the best possible decision. When companies rely on data scientists and product and process developers instead of data analysts they know that data scientist will have the most knowledge and experience with information technology (IT). In comparison with traditional analytics, data scientist have far more advanced skills and can help to develop products and ideas whereas traditional analytics really advised the executives about the internal portion of the company. Lastly, companies interested in big data want to move away from the basic IT functions and closer to core business and operational functions. In past years, the traditional way of replicating existing technologies seemed to be inefficient compared to what big data has to offer. • 8. Rhetorical Analysis Reflection This semester has taught me a lot about the different types of writing. I have learned how to draft and compose a rhetorical analysis based off of an author's ethos, pathos, and logos strategies. Not only have I been able to critically analyze rhetorical papers, but I have been able to search for more information to support my ideas or beliefs. Even though this can be time consuming it is well worth it to have a lot of support and evidence to back my ideas or beliefs on a topic. Throughout this semester I have more of a general knowledge on rhetorical goals, critical reading and writing skills, my processes on how to write a paper, and learning a new way of creating an idea through electronical environments. Each assignment was...show more content... These cites that were used could be placed in my essay and the flow of the paper would not change but keep it more organized with my thought process. From the rhetorical essay to the argument essay, the development of my citing or using references has greatly increased. When I started with the rhetorical essay it was difficult to understand how to cite the author's work appropriately but when I moved to the argument essay it was almost natural when citing work. I believe this is due to the practice that we have had in class. The strategies I find most useful when writing an essay is having a topic that is of interest. When I wrote the argument essay, I already had a topic that interested me from the exploratory assignment. Generating an outline was another beneficial strategy that I had used because I could see the gaps in my writing or where my ideas did not flow together. Once I had an outline the rough draft was easy to create. I do not mind peer review but it becomes challenging when the person who is reading your review might not have the same views as I do. This would mean they were over critical of the paper and made it seem like I needed to change my entire essay to fit the standards of another classmate versus what the assignment was about. I did receive good constructive feedback on all of the assignments, which did end up helping me adjust portions of my writing. I do believe I am the same way to others writing Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Analysis Of The Boat By Nam Le "The Boat" by Nam Le, is a serious of short stories that while representing a number of different themes throughout each story, the central theme regards the complicated relationship between children and their parents, with each story examining this theme in different ways. The opening and closing stories, "Love and Honour and Pity and Pride and Compassion and Sacrifice", and "The Boat", not only develop the relationship between children and parents and how the child attempts to maintain this relationship; but also how they live their lives without their parents. "Love and Honour and Pity and Pride and Compassion and Sacrifice", focuses on the relationship between the protagonist, who is referred to as 'Child', and his father, referred to as 'Ba'. The opening story follows the protagonist as he is struggling to overcome writers block, whilst dealing with his estranged Vietnamese father who is visiting. A number of flashbacks are used as a literary device to divulge into the protagonists past with his father as well as the fathers past. This reveals, not only an abusive past with his father, but also his father's memories of the Vietnam war. It becomes clear that the son makes excuses for his father, with his girlfriend Linda also noting this, "I think you're making excuses for him...You're romanticising his past to make sense of the things you said he did to you" (pp.20). The protagonist reflects this himself, making the excuse that "he was a soldier" (pp.13), and that is why his father treated him as he did. The protagonist, despite once being able to admit to Linda that his father abused him, can no longer admit this, as his relationship with his father grows, and it can be argued that he is willing to overlook his past in an attempt to reconcile with his father. "It was too much these words, and what connected to them" (pp.13). Their relationship changes numerous times throughout the short story, beginning with two men leading separate lives and being relatively unconcerned with each other, and acting more or less like acquaintances, rather than a father and son. "At that moment I realised he was speaking to me not as a father... but as he would speak to a friend, to anyone, and it undid me" (pp.22). However, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Gorbachev would later suggest to media sources that they begin reporting casualties of the war in order to gain public support over Politburo, and the Soviet hardliners, who opposed pulling out of Afghanistan. "Previously, the Soviet public routinely had been told that "soldiers in Afghani–Stan were planting trees and building schools and hospitals."' (Kuperman, 1999) The fact of the whole matter was that regardless of what the CIA was supplying to the rebels Gorbachev wanted out anyway. Though The Stingers contribution may have aided in expediting the directive far more than any other weapon in the region, it also served another purpose, it gave Gorbachev another reason to pull out of the war. • 12. Analytical Essays On Analytical Psychology Jung, C. G. (1972). Two essays on analytical psychology Jung's Two Essays on Analytical Psychology includes the works The Unconscious in the Normal and Pathological Mind and The Relation of the Ego to the Unconscious, which are 1928 revisions of previously written papers. Jung, who was Freud's well–known disciple from 1909 to 1914, held ideas different from Freud's and Adler's that eventually led to personal differences between them, particularly with Freud; their followers have continued these differences. One of the point of disagreement is Jung's opinion that Freud's concept of the libido is too concerned with sexuality and that Adler's will to power is also too simplistic. Alternatively to Freud, he calls the libido the basic tank...show more content... On the other hand, Freud and Adler had difficulty in refusing the development of both humanity and the individual and were rigid in their beliefs. Jung believed that psychic energy had its foundation in the tension of opposites; this energy could only be used when the proper gradient was found. He also introduced two very different theories of neurosis, with the first focusing the object and the second emphasized the subject, are viewed as manifestations of an oppositional type. The introverted personality type focuses on the subject while the extraversion type focuses on the object; however, these two types are rare observed in their unadulterated state. Moreover, the dynamics of a relationship between individuals who retain contradictory personality types was examined by Jung. Alternatively, to contrast with the concepts of Freud and Adler, they describe neuroses as sometimes allocating useful adaptive functions. The Unconscious in the Normal and Pathological Mind Jung considers and discusses the concept of the collective unconscious as well as its role in the process of transference within psychotherapy. He suggests that the traditional method of dream analysis which must be followed by a discussion when it is believed that the symbols presented originated in the collective unconscious. • 13. The Analytical And Intuitive Thinking Introduction There are several different types of thinking. There is analytical, intuitive, creative, logic and rhetoric, all which are different tools in our own minds thinking tool box. • 14. Beowulf Analytical Essay "There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil." – Ayn Rand. To fully understand the complex world and culture of the Anglo –Saxons, one must examine the only form of historical evidence available – texts. One particular great work from this time period is often underrated and overshadowed in modern society by many other ancient works such as Iliad or Oedipus Rex. The epic poem, Beowulf, was sung by multiple unknown Anglo–Saxon poets four centuries before the Norman Conquest. The theme of good versus evil was constantly reappearing throughout the storyline, the portrayal of evil and its downfall initially shaped the poem's plot, and illustrates an alien presence; something that...show more content... Grendel's invasion of Herot symbolizes the destruction of peace and safety, and the imperfections within the society. The twelve years Grendel had haunted Herot, "Herot stood empty, and stayed deserted for years" (145–146) were also the twelve years Hrothgar and his kingdom suffered. Nevertheless, when Beowulf finally eliminated Grendel, readers see a different side of Herot, "Golden tapestries were lined along the walls, for a host of visitors to see and take pleasure in" (995–996), the glory and grandeur was restored, all with the slaying of Grendel – an outcast of society. The rigid and confined society of the Danes also shaped the way its people think and act, but also influenced greatly on the writings. Given the fact that metaphors and kennings are common in Old English literature; the representation of "evil" is also something not to be taken on a literal level. "Edgetho had begun a bitter feud / Killing Hathlaf, a Wulfing warrior" (459–460), inter–tribal feuds, therefore, are also a destroyer of peace. Grendel takes on a form that is left uncertain; its real meaning hidden behind the metaphorical mask of a monster, is the never–ending battles between tribal armies (namely, the Danes, Geats, Frisians, and the Swedes) that had disturbed the tranquility people had longed for. It is almost a barrier of peacekeeping, hider of hope. Hence, it is represented by Grendel, a great evil hated by many, whom Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Analytical Essay On The Great Gatsby Analytical Essay of the Great Gatsby The idea of social status pops up many times in the Great Gatsby and it compared through many different forms from parties, transportation, and ways of thought. Although the main way to determine one's social status is to see the amount of wealth the person has. The Valley of Ashes is used to represent the area where the people of poverty live. The Valley of Ashes is a land where "ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills," and where "ash– gray men swarm with leaden spades [to] stir up an impenetrable cloud" which fills the air smog and ashes (Fitzgerald 23). • 16. Analytical Essay On Abortion Among issues of great contentions in the world today, including gay marriages, dress codes for both women and men that constitute morality, divorce, HIV/AIDS as concerns new marriages, abortion has not lagged behind. Discussions, debates and arguments have been pressed to the fore on whether abortion should be legalized and what kind of legal structure should be adopted. Not only has abortion been a contentious issue on the legal forum but the argument extents to find when life begins and who has control of life (life is defined in respect to a formed baby within the mother's womb). There is also the aspect of unwanted pregnancies and what kind of such unwanted pregnancies should be terminated. So far many countries have laws that allow for termination of pregnancies when such pregnancies are medically detrimental to the existent of both the mother and the unborn child. And of recent many countries are on the road to legalizing abortion even to women who would consider pregnancy a state of discomfort. Reasons that come to light in support of abortion include such reasons as unplanned pregnancies, pregnancies due to rape, pregnancies which if allowed to mature to birth, the support of such children would be huge and involving.
