(Adh-Dha>riya>t:56) To make du'a> to Allah is also a form of worship. The Prophet stated: Du'a> is (a form of) worship. (Abu> Da>wu>d) Allah says: And when My servants ask you, [O Muh}ammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. (Al-Baqarah:186) 1

(S}ah}ih} Muslim) Allah is truly Great, Praise be to Allah in abundance and Glory be to Allah in the morning and the evening. (S}ah}ih} Muslim) Peace & Blessings upon the Prophet Moh}ammad O Allah! bestow Your mercy upon Muh}ammad and upon the family of Muh}ammad . (Sunan al-Nasa>‘i>) O Allah! Bestow mercy upon your servant and messenger, Muh}ammad , as You bestowed Your mercy upon Ibrahim and bless Muh}ammad and the family of Muh}ammad , as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim . (S}ah}ih} al-Bukhar> i)> 4 5
  6. 6. Du‘a> of Morning O Allah! By Your leave we reach the morning and by Your leave we reach the evening and by Your leave we live and by Your leave we die and to You is our return. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi>) 6 7

  8. 8. Du‘a> for Protection 10 I seek refuge in the totality of the words of Allah from the evil of what He has created. (S}ah}ih} Muslim) In the name of Allah, by Whose name nothing on the earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All Knowing, the All-Hearing. (Sunan Abu> Da>wu>d) 11
  9. 9. Du‘a> Before Sleeping 1. Dust the bed before sleeping 2. Sleep on right side 3. Put your hand under your right cheek and say: O Allah! In Your name I live and die. (S}ah}ih} al-Bukha>ri>) 12 13
  10. 10. Du‘a> After Waking Up Rub your face and eyes with your hands to remove any remaining effects of sleep and say: All praise is for Allah who gave us life after death (sleep) and to him is the resurrection. (S}ah}ih} al-Bukhar> i)> 14 15
  11. 11. Du‘a> Before Entering the Toilet Enter with left foot and say: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the impure male jinns and impure female jinns. (S}ah}ih} al-Bukhar> i)> 16 17
  12. 12. Du‘a> After Leaving the Toilet Leave with right foot and say: I ask You (Allah) for forgiveness. (Sunan Abu> Da>wu>d) 18 19
  13. 13. Du‘a> Before Putting on Dress 1. Shake and dust your dress before wearing 2. Start wearing the cloth from the right side (right sleeve, right side of the trouser, right sock etc.) All praise is for Allah Who has clothed me with his garment and provided it for me, with no power or might from myself. (Sunan Abu> Da>wu>d) 20 21
  14. 14. Du‘a> Before Taking off Dress Start to undress from the left side (left sleeve, left side of the trouser, left sock etc) In the Name of Allah. (S}ah}ih} al-Jami’ al-S}aghi>r) 22 23
  15. 15. Du‘a> Before Leaving the Home In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah and there is no might nor power except with Allah. (Sunan Abu> Da>wu>d) 24 25
  16. 16. Du‘a> While Entering Home In the name of Allah. (S}ah}ih} Muslim) 26 May peace (of Allah) be upon you. (An-Nu>r: 27) 27
  17. 17. Du‘a> for Traveller (I make) Allah responsible for your deen, your trustworthiness and for the results of your actions. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi>) 28 29
  18. 18. Du‘a> for Journey In the name of Allah (Sunan Abu> Da>wu>d) All praises is for Allah (Sunan Abu> Da>wu>d) Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return. (Az-Zukhruf 13,14) 30 31
  19. 19. Du‘a> When Meeting a Muslim May peace, mercy and blessings (of Allah) be upon you. Reply to the Greeting: (Sunan Abu> Da>wu>d) May peace mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you as well. (Sunan Abu> Da>wu>d) 32 33
  20. 20. Du‘a> at the End of a Gathering Glory be to You O Allah, and all praise be to You! I bear witness that there is no deity except You, I seek Your forgiveness and turn in repentance to You. (Sunan Abu> Da>wu>d) 34 35
  21. 21. Du‘a> When Entering the Market There is no true deity except Allah, alone, He has no partners. To Him belongs the dominion and for Him is all praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is living and does not die. In His hand is all good and He is upon all things Always All-Powerful. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi>) 36 37
  22. 22. Du‘a> When Entering the Masjid Enter masjid with the right foot and say: O Allah, open for me the doors of your mercy. (Sunan al-Nasa>’i>) 38 39

  24. 24. Du‘a> Before Eating & Drinking 1. Sit while eating and drinking 2. Eat with your right hand and eat from what is in front of you and say: In the Name of Allah. (Sunan Ibn Ma>jah) 3. If you forgot to read the Du'a> at the beginning then upon remembering say: In the Name of Allah, at the beginning and at the end. (Sunan Ibn Ma>jah) 42 43
  25. 25. Du‘a> After Eating & Drinking O Allah, You grant us blessings in it and grant us better than it. (Sunan Abu> Da>wu>d) 44 45
  26. 26. 46 Du‘a> When Visiting the Sick No harm, (this illness will be) a purification (from sins), if Allah wills. (S}ah}ih} al-Bukhar> i)> I ask Allah, the Great, Lord of the Magnificent Throne, to cure you. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi>) 47
  27. 27. Du‘a> for One Afflicted by a Calamity Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return. O Allah, recompense me for my affliction and replace it for me with something better. (S}ah}ih} Muslim) 48 49
  28. 28. Du‘a> upon Seeing Someone in Calamity All praise is for Allah, Who saved me from that which He tested you with and favoured me over much of His creation. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi>) 50 51
  29. 29. Du‘a> When Angry 1. Seek refuge with Allah from the Shait}a>n: I seek refuge in Allah from the Satan the rejected. (S}ah}ih} al-Bukhar> i)> 2. Keep silent. 3. If you are standing, then sit down, so the anger will go away; if it does not go away, then lie down. 52 53
  30. 30. Du‘a> When Sneezing Say after sneezing: All praises to Allah. (S}ah}ih} al-Bukhar> i)> Dua by one who hears someone saying : May Allah have mercy on you. (S}ah}ih} al-Bukhar> i)> Dua in reply by the person who sneezes: May Allah guide you and improve your position. (S}ah}ih} al-Bukhar> i)> 54 55
  31. 31. Du‘a> When it Rains O Allah, may it be a beneficial rain cloud. (Sunan al-Nasa>’i>) 56 57
  32. 32. Du‘a> Upon Sighting the Crescent Moon O Allah! Let the moon appear over us with security, faith, peace and Islam. [O moon!] My Lord and your Lord is Allah. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi>) 58 59
  33. 33. 60 Du‘a> for Seeking Allah’s Love O Allah! I ask You for Your love and for the love of the one who loves You and I ask for the deeds which lead me towards Your love. (Musnad Ah}mad) 61
  34. 34. Du‘a> : Sayyid al Istighfa>r O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity worthy of worship except You. You created me and I am your servant, I abide by Your covenant and promise to the best of my ability. I seek refuge with you from the evil of which I have committed. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none forgives sins except you. (S}ah}ih} al-Bukhar> i)> 62 63
