IN COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAM

2. DEFINITION:
 According to Murray G. Ross (1964) – "Community
organization is a process by which a community identifies its
needs or objectives, orders (or ranks) these needs or
objectives, develops the confidence and will to work at these
needs or objectives, finds the resources (internal and external)
to deal with these needs or objectives, takes action in respect
to them and in so doing extends and develops co-operative
and collaborative attitudes and practices in the community."

3. COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAMS
 Community health program are locally based education
and treatment programs available typically to individuals
who are living in poverty and/or do not have health
insurance coverage. Community health programs are
usually non- profit and seek funding through health
department programs, donations, and government grants.

4.  Community based health programs are typically
found in communities where the services are
needed the most, and the services are tailored to
the populations of resident.

 Planning: planning includes planning of
activitiesprogram development, coordination,
improvement and maintenance of standards and
related activities.

 Fact finding and research: includes the knowledge of
actual need of the people and available resource. This
help us to realize weather people have worked on these
problems and if so, then try to gain form their experience

 Public relation: includes interpreting social welfare
needs, program, services, developing and maintenance
public relation, etc.

8.  Fund raising and allocating : In a proper way
each an important task , fund raising may be
carried out by organizing a campaign or
individually putting efforts. Once the fund are raised
, budgeting and allocating them to groups become
a crucial step.

 Community development : includes consultation
regarding programs of development. Helping
people to meet their needs and to develop attitudes
of self directions, self help and cooperation are
important aspect of development .

 Social action: includes carrying on legislatives
observations, analysis and promotion in a selective
area adopted for the work. This may include
conformation, conflict and militant direct action to
attend the goals.
 While performing this entire tasks, one may
required doing consultations as well.
