3. Similarities with
Appearance
James bond is a character that we look at for
inspiration on how we wanted to represent Agent ken.
We tried to make him dress how James Bond would
dress. He would dress with formal clothes such as suits
therefore we decided that Agent Ken should also
wear a suit. This is shown form the pictures where they
both wear the same white shirt with a contrasting tie.
Having this similarity is important as this would make
the audience create a connection with the two
characters just from the fact that they wear the same
attire.
4. Similarities with Roles
The two character’s roles are very similar. They are both the hero
or the main character for their film. For our film, the Interrogation,
Agent Ken is the saviour for the person being interrogated. He is
an agent working for the government to diminish the crime rates
for this local area. Similarly to this, James Bond is also a servant for
the government, though a little more higher then Agent ken. In
many of the James Bond films, he is also the saviour for many
people.
We tried emphasising Agent ken’s similar high class by including
whiskey in our opening sequence. Whiskey is regarded as a high
class drink as it is expensive. We also tried to make scenes with
Agent ken slow and calm as in many of the James bond films, it is
calm and slow. We used sounds and camera angles to create
this effect.
5. Differences
Though the two characters are very similar, there are
some differences between them.
James Bond is higher in status then Agent ken. James
Bond is a secret agent working in many different
countries and doing much bigger cases. Whereas,
Agent ken is a little more domestic.
7. Appearance
The two characters have no similarities in their clothing as
our victim is topless. We wanted to have him topless as it
shows that the is vulnerable and empty.
However, in both movies, the two characters both look
beaten and weak. In this way, they are similar.
A difference is their ethnicity, our victim is of an English
background whereas Andi is from Indonesia
8. Roles
The two are very similar in roles. They are both traitors from a drug
gang or cartel, because of this they are being beaten and
Punished.
They both belong to the same social group as they
both traitors and treated low by their bosses.
We wanted to emphasise his social class with cinematography
sounds and props. For example, we limited light so that you are
unable to see his face. We did this because it creates mystery
and tension. This technique is also used on Andi as the room is
also dark and mysterious.
However, a difference is that Andi is not really being
interrogated. He is being punished because he is a traitor.
10. Appearance
In appearance, the two characters are very similar.
They both have a frown on their face showing
seriousness and treat. They wear similar clothing, they
both wear dark shirts with no real focus on what they
look like as they don’t think it is relevant. They both
appear strong as they are high up on their gang’s
hierarchy.
Another similarity is their Ethnicity, They are both from
an Asian background and belong to an Asian Gang.
11. Role
They are both at the high point of their Gang’s
Hierarchy. We tried to show this in our film by having a
low angle shot of the gang leader. This shows that he
is powerful and suggest that he looks down on people
because he is higher than them. Another similarity is
that they are both feared by people. Also, they are
both have the job of interrogation.
However, a difference is that Mad Dog isnt te Gang
leader, he is the general figure for their gang.
12. Social groups that we
failed to include :
Elderly and Children
we decided that they do not really fit in for our genre
of Gangster – Thriller
