You should try out Prezi! Prezi is a cloud-based presentation software that provides a zoomable canvas and makes it fun to explore ideas and the connections between them. It's FREE to use, and for an annual fee you can choose to upgrade your package based on your use of it, and if you have an “.edu” email you get a free upgrade to have even more functionalities for your Prezi's. Marketing | Advertising _______________________________________________________________________________ MailChimp – http://mailchimp.com Cost: Free if you have 2000 subscribers and send up to 12000 emails per month MailChimp helps you design email newsletters, share them on social networks, integrate with services you already use, and track your results. It's like your own personal publishing platform. Issuu – http://issuu.com/ Cost: FREE Issuu is another tool where you can upload almost any document format and create a virtual flipping book. You can link the final product to your website, emails and other social media platforms.
  2. 2. 2 QR Codes – http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ Cost: FREE Want any easy way for clients to access your webpage? Try using quick response (QR) codes! QR codes act and look similar to barcodes – they are encoded with data that can then be scanned and downloaded using the camera on your smart phone. Data found within these codes can lead you to a variety of informational resources including contact information, text, and often websites for marketing purposes. QR codes are a great tool for marketing because they are FREE to generate, easy to use, and can be adapted to any form of marketing material. You can generate QR codes for free using sites such as qrcode.kaywa.com and smart phone owners can find and download QR scanners through their app stores, for free or minimal cost. Clients/students are even using QR codes on resumes and business cards to direct employers to their online portfolios, blogs, personal websites, and other information! File Sharing | Collaboration_________________________________________________________________________________________ Google Drive – https://drive.google.com/ Cost: FREE Google Drive offers simple, powerful communication and collaboration tools for anyone – all hosted by Google to streamline setup, minimize maintenance, and reduce IT costs. It allows you to create and share documents, spreadsheets with others, develop surveys to collect data, establish websites and hang out with friends and co-workers. Google Docs/Forms - Create basic documents from scratch or start from a template. You can easily do all the basics, including making bulleted lists, sorting by columns, adding tables, images, comments, formulas, changing fonts and more. Forms are a useful tool to help you plan events, give students a quiz, or collect other information in an easy, streamlined way. A Google form is automatically connected to a spreadsheet with the same title. When you send a form to recipients, their responses will automatically be collected in that spreadsheet. Google Sites - Thinking of creating a website? Google Sites is a free and easy way to create and share webpages. It is powerful enough for a company intranet, yet simple enough for a family website. You can start a site from scratch or from a template. Google+ - Google's social network. Google+ makes connecting on the web more like connecting in the real world. Share your thoughts, links and photos with the right circles. Use easy, spontaneous video chat to strike up conversations with as many as nine people at once. Get everyone on the same page with fast, simple group chat. Features include Circles, Hangouts, Games, and Search. Google Calendar – Organize your schedule and share events with friends. Google Voice – One number for all your phones, online voicemail and cheap calling. You can use Google Voice with a brand new number from Google or your existing mobile phone number. Microsoft Office Web Apps & Lync – http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/web-apps/ Cost: Web Apps are FREE, Lync needs licensing from Microsoft Microsoft, like many other software companies, are making a strong effort to utilize the cloud. We’ll take a quick look at Office Web Apps, which are free and accessible through a Windows Live account. We will also see the features of Microsoft Lync, for messaging and collaboration in the enterprise.

Besides presentations, SlideShare also supports documents, PDFs, videos and webinars. Features include the following: upload presentations publicly or privately; download presentations on any topic and reuse or remix; embed on blogs, websites, company intranets; share on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn. Zipcast: free, no download, 1 click web meetings. Slidecast: sync mp3 audio with slides to create a webinar; embed YouTube videos inside SlideShare presentations. Dropbox – www.dropbox.com Cost: FREE A service that lets you bring your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. Never email yourself a file again. Dropbox offers 2GB for free, with subscriptions up to 100GB available. Other features include the following: apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, and BlackBerry; the ability to edit files in your Dropbox from your phone; invite friends, family or teammates to a folder (it'll be as if you saved the folder to their computers) and see other people's changes instantly; easily upload your photos and videos to Dropbox; create photo galleries viewable by anyone you choose. Dropbox works even when offline, so you always have your files, whether or not you have a connection. A company called Zurb has created a web-based app, called Reel, to help you quickly create and share presentations. The app allows you to upload PowerPoint or Word documents, PDFs or some images to turn them into an online slideshow. Each presentation is stored online behind a unique URL, making it easy to poll your audience for their impressions. You can quickly collect thumbs-up/ thumbs-down votes on each slide or image. Jing - www.techsmith.com/jing.html Cost: FREE (or upgrade to Jing Pro for $14.99/year) Jing can be used for both screen shots and to record screen casts. The screen casting element allows to you record up to five minutes of footage of what you see and do on your monitor. The software also has mark-up tools for images and works well with Snagit and Camtasia for editing and enhanced sharing. Adobe Presenter - www.adobe.com/products/presenter/ Cost: $500 This software can turn PowerPoint presentations into Adobe Flash Player compatible content. The user can also add narration, animation, interactivity, quizzes, software simulations, and embed videos into the presentations. Screenr - www.screenr.com Cost: FREE Screenr’s web-based screen recorder makes it a breeze to create and share your screencasts around the web. Just click the record button, capture your screen and voice, and share the link. Screenr is easy to use and doesn’t involve downloading any software at all. The program works on Macs and PCs, and can play everywhere including iPhones. Even the hardest transitions are easy to edit thanks to the Precision Editor, where you can correct shaky video and cut clips down to the second. Add special effects, transitions, sound, and captions to help tell your story. And sharing with friends and family is easy—whether on the web, a computer, TV, mobile device, or a DVD. Wow Slider - www.wowslider.com Cost: Free The most strong and popular web design trend over the last couple of years is sliding horizontal panels, also known as Sliders or Carousels. It's a very effective method to increase the website usability and engage the user. WOW Slider is a jQuery image slider with stunning visual effects and tons of professionally made templates. WOW Slider is packed with a point-and-click wizard to create fantastic sliders in a matter of seconds without coding and image editing. Vine – Download it from your smart phone app store Cost: Free Vine is a mobile app that enables its users to create and post short video clips. Video clips created with Vine have a maximum length of 6 seconds and can be shared or embedded on social networking services such as Twitter and Facebook.

Skype’s features include instant messaging, file transfer, and videoconferencing. This tool is great for one-to-one sessions; while using it with groups, there is no option to see all participants in the group – there is only group voice available for all. iChat – http://www.apple.com/macosx/apps/all.html#ichat Cost: FREE An instant messaging software application developed by Apple exclusively for its Mac OS X operating system. It has audio, video and screen-sharing capabilities as well as text messaging. iChat works with AIM which means you and your buddies can use AIM on a Mac or a PC. iChat works with other services including Yahoo!, too. You can chat with just one person or make it a “party” by starting a multi-way chat. VoxOx – www.VoxOx.com Cost: FREE VoxOx might be described as “Skype on steroids”. Like Skype, VoxOx offers FREE VOIP services to its members when you are calling computer to computer. Where VoxOx differentiates itself from Skype is its integration of social networks like Facebook and MySpace into its communication platform so that you can instant message friends on those networks without having to enter those networks directly. You can seamlessly switch between calling, texting, chatting, Facebook and more – all in one unified conversation. Rather they are focused on providing mobile to mobile, mobile to PC, and PC to mobile VOIP and text messaging services. With Google Talk you can send Text Chat or Voice Chat. You can customize your page with full markup and design control. Blogger (by Google) – www.blogger.com Cost: FREE Blogger is a web-based tool that helps you publish to the web instantly. Blogger gives you a way to automate the blog publishing process without writing any code or worrying about installing any sort of server software or scripts. And yet, it still gives you total control over the look and location of your blog. Instead of hand-coding your blog posts and frequently uploading the newest version of your page, you make posts to your blog by submitting a simple form, and the results immediately show up on your site. Blogspot is a weblog-hosting service run by the folks who make Blogger. Wix – www.wix.com Cost: FREE This is a website builder offering 1,000’s of Flash web design templates and layouts. You can choose the one you like and make it your very own, or design your own website from scratch. This tool offers easy drag and drop editor tools, free fonts, pictures, animations, backgrounds, effects and more. To publish, you can use their free server or connect to your domain. Zoho – http://www.zoho.com/ Cost: FREE Zoho is a web 2.0 online site builder with some advanced features. Simple and easy registration with no commitment for contracts. Weebly – www.weebly.com Cost: FREE Weebly.com is a web 2.0 online site builder with some advanced features. Registration is fast and easy. When you visit their website, you will see a registration form that contains only 3 fields - username, password and email. You merely have to fill out these fields and the account will be activated immediately. Newbies will like the simple builder interface - you can drag and drop all the elements right into your site and see the changes immediately. It’s very easy. While advanced users will probably go with another company that provides more features like script language support, databases, etc, new users probably will like the ease of Weebly. About.me - https://about.me/ Cost: FREE About.me has been dubbed a “social media resume”! It is a custom profile and personal analytics dashboard. This tool allows you to create a central landing point that will easily express who you are, create a bio, and all the places you live on the web. You can place your link into your email signature or twitter bio and direct people exactly where they need to go to find out all about.you! You can also track who views your page, where they’re coming from, and what they’re doing on your page – which is key if you’re promoting your business. Graphic Design | Infographics_________________________________________ Venngage - http://venngage.com Cost: FREE Have 20 beautiful graphs for you to choose from and let you track views.

Users can explore designs or submit their own creations to share with the Visual.ly community. When sharing designs, the user can receive valuable feedback that helps them improve the way they display data. The site currently showcases a diverse array of eye-catching infographs, which cover many topics ranging from the lifecycle of a startup company to the relationships of girl gossip. The site does not yet offer infograph building tools, although there is an area reserved for such tools which are going to be added in the future. Easel.ly - http://www.easel.ly Cost: FREE Another great infographic building tools with 24 templates available for free. Infogr.am –http://infogr.am/ Cost: FREE Create infographics and interactive online charts. Additional Tools___________________________________________________________________________________ Evernote – www.evernote.com Cost: FREE Evernote makes it easy to remember things big and small from your notable life using your computer, phone, and the web. All of your notes, web clips, files and images are made available on every device and computer you use. Evernote helps you to remember things you like – you can save everything cool and exciting you see online and in the real world, snap a photo, save entire webpages, record some audio, and save it all to Evernote. You can share your notes and collaborate on projects with friends, colleagues, and classmates. Delicious - http://delicious.com/ Cost: FREE With Delicious you save, stack and share the web. Instantly save your favorite links, collect your discoveries in stacks, share what you find, and dig deeper into your favorite topics. Saving links on delicious makes it easy to find them later on and then share them with anyone. A stack is a collection of links built around a common theme. To get started, visit the stack tab on your profile page and click “create stack.” Choose at least three links, add juicy descriptions, pick the best images, choose the layout, and shuffle the order of links. Sharing your favorite links and stacks on Delicious is as easy as clicking the share button. In addition, browsing through stacks is a great way to explore interesting topics and find the best web content out there. Pixability - www.pixability.com Cost: FREE Pixability is an online video grader, a tool that will tell you how effectively you’re using online video. All you need to do is enter the address of your company website and YouTube channel, as well as the size of your company, and a report will be generated in seconds that will give you numerical scores for your video presence on Google, Bing, YouTube, and social media, as well as concrete suggestions for improvement. You'll also be given an overall score on a scale from 0 to 100. Moodle – www.moodle.org Cost: FREE Moodle is an Open Source Course Management System (CMS), also known as a Learning Management System (LMS) or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Hootsuite - http://hootsuite.com/ Cost: FREE Hootsuite allows you to manage multiple social media account in one setting. You can schedule your updates and track usage. It links to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn,Google+, Foursquare, MySpace, WordPress and Mixi. Additional integrations are available via HootSuite’s App Directory, including Instagram, MailChimp, Reddit, Storify, Tumblr,Vimeo and YouTube.
