This is a GS-04/05/06 position that is located at the HQ Special Troops Bn JFHQ MO in Jefferson
City, MO United States 1 vacancy

Incumbent will be assigned to Position Description Number D1190000 in SPMD 2110

APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is a Permanent Excepted Service position. This is a bargaining
unit position.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED: This is an Excepted position that requires
active membership in a compatible skill in the Missouri Army National Guard and wear of the
military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these
requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently enlisted in the
Missouri Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate enlistment or appointment. For

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military
assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS qualified within
12 months from date of appointment.

Enlisted – CMF 42, 92; or predominate MOS of the organization

Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position.
Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade
inversion).

IMPORTANT NOTES: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances are not authorized for this
position. Required Security Clearance is Noncritical Sensitive.

Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel
within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or
termination.
This position will be filled at the GS-04 or GS-05 trainee grades or the target grade of GS-06. An
applicant who is selected at one of the trainee grades will have the potential for promotion to the
target grade of GS-06 without further competition. Promotion to full operating/journeyman level
will be made after qualifications and eligibility requirements have been met and the incumbent is
performing at the higher level in a satisfactory manner.

DUTIES: Assists in administering the military personnel program for the organization. Prepares
for and participates in command level inspections in the area of personnel and administration.
Reviews and provides recommendations for the assignment and utilization of military personnel in
accordance with authorized manning documents. Accomplishes or reviews a variety of military
personnel transactions including enlistments, separations, promotions, duty assignments,
transfers, medical evaluations, line of duty actions, security clearances, awards and decorations,
retirements, etc., and forwards actions to a higher level military personnel office. Reviews and
forwards enlisted evaluation reports. Reviews enlisted promotion packets prior to submission to
higher headquarters for quality and completion. Reviews and recommends changes to the
preliminary enlisted promotion consideration list to ensure all personnel eligible are considered.
Prepares documentation and provides administrative support for battalion level enlisted promotion
boards. Assists with the coordination of health services support. Reviews the status of all physical
examinations within the command and makes recommendations for scheduling and completion.
Provides assistance to the commander and staff pertaining to military personnel administration.
Provides information to unit personnel about benefits and entitlements, career and bonus
programs, educational, retirement, and other benefits. Provides administrative support in the
preparation of appointment packets. Assembles supporting documentation required at higher
levels when processing actions such as involuntary order to active duty, courts martial, fraudulent
enlistment, non-selection for retention, administrative discharges, etc. Performs various
administrative duties relating to military personnel involving the composition and distribution of
correspondence, publications, reports, orders, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

GS-06 Specialized Experience: Must have 9 months of specialized experience applying military
Human Resources rules, procedures and operations sufficient to process and/or review a variety
of military personnel actions/transactions; reviewing and processing military personnel actions to
determine if requested action is substantiated by the documentation submitted; and preparing
technical reports and correspondence.

GS-05 Specialized Experience: Must have 6 months of specialized experience applying military
Human Resources rules, procedures and operations sufficient to process and/or review a variety
of military personnel actions/transactions; reviewing and processing military personnel actions to
determine if requested action is substantiated by the documentation submitted; and preparing
technical reports and correspondence.

GS-04 Specialized Experience: Must have 3 months specialized experience in general clerical
work; processing various personnel forms, records and reports; obtaining and giving information
verbally and in writing; and the ability to follow written instructions.

General Experience: Must have clerical or administrative experience, education and/or training
which has provided you with the ability to search for and compile information/data, process
documents, and provide information about regulations, procedures and programs.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible for Federal employment, male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must
certify at the time of appointment that you have registered with the Selective Service System, or
are exempt from having to do so under Selective Service law.

Be advised that if selected for a military technician position where membership in a
reserve component is a condition of employment, your bonus will be terminated and

This is a GS-04/05/06 position that is located at the HQ Special Troops Bn JFHQ MO in Jefferson City, MO United States 1 vacancy Incumbent will be assigned to Position Description Number D1190000 in SPMD 2110 APPOINTMENT FACTORS: This is a Permanent Excepted Service position. This is a bargaining unit position. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED: This is an Excepted position that requires active membership in a compatible skill in the Missouri Army National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently enlisted in the Missouri Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate enlistment or appointment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be MOS qualified within 12 months from date of appointment. Enlisted – CMF 42, 92; or predominate MOS of the organization Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion). IMPORTANT NOTES: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances are not authorized for this position. Required Security Clearance is Noncritical Sensitive. Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.
  • 2. This position will be filled at the GS-04 or GS-05 trainee grades or the target grade of GS-06. An applicant who is selected at one of the trainee grades will have the potential for promotion to the target grade of GS-06 without further competition. Promotion to full operating/journeyman level will be made after qualifications and eligibility requirements have been met and the incumbent is performing at the higher level in a satisfactory manner. Prepares for and participates in command level inspections in the area of personnel and administration. Reviews and provides recommendations for the assignment and utilization of military personnel in accordance with authorized manning documents. Accomplishes or reviews a variety of military personnel transactions including enlistments, separations, promotions, duty assignments, transfers, medical evaluations, line of duty actions, security clearances, awards and decorations, retirements, etc., and forwards actions to a higher level military personnel office. Reviews and forwards enlisted evaluation reports. Reviews enlisted promotion packets prior to submission to higher headquarters for quality and completion. Reviews and recommends changes to the preliminary enlisted promotion consideration list to ensure all personnel eligible are considered. Prepares documentation and provides administrative support for battalion level enlisted promotion boards. Assists with the coordination of health services support. Reviews the status of all physical examinations within the command and makes recommendations for scheduling and completion. Provides assistance to the commander and staff pertaining to military personnel administration. Provides information to unit personnel about benefits and entitlements, career and bonus programs, educational, retirement, and other benefits. Provides administrative support in the preparation of appointment packets. Assembles supporting documentation required at higher levels when processing actions such as involuntary order to active duty, courts martial, fraudulent enlistment, non-selection for retention, administrative discharges, etc. Performs various administrative duties relating to military personnel involving the composition and distribution of correspondence, publications, reports, orders, etc. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: GS-06 Specialized Experience: Must have 9 months of specialized experience applying military Human Resources rules, procedures and operations sufficient to process and/or review a variety of military personnel actions/transactions; reviewing and processing military personnel actions to determine if requested action is substantiated by the documentation submitted; and preparing technical reports and correspondence. GS-05 Specialized Experience: Must have 6 months of specialized experience applying military Human Resources rules, procedures and operations sufficient to process and/or review a variety of military personnel actions/transactions; reviewing and processing military personnel actions to determine if requested action is substantiated by the documentation submitted; and preparing technical reports and correspondence. GS-04 Specialized Experience: Must have 3 months specialized experience in general clerical work; processing various personnel forms, records and reports; obtaining and giving information verbally and in writing; and the ability to follow written instructions.
