3. DIE HARD
• Die hard was about a Christmas party being held in a hotel called ‘Nakatomi plaza
hotel’ on the 30th floor in the city of Los Angeles.
• Whilst the party is going on, there is a full building hostage which has been taken
place as a band of German terrorists arrive. This included employees and
attempts a huge robbery.
• The only one who eludes capture is New York City cop John McClane who
launches a one man war in attempt to stop the terrorists and save all the
hostages including his wife Holly.
4. PLOT
• On Christmas eve, NYPD detective john Mclaine arrives in los Angeles. He plans
on reconcile with his estranged wife, Holly. However, holly is at her work
Christmas party at the Nakatomi. John is driven to the Nakatomi by a airport
limousine driver. Whilst john is changing and freshening up the party is
interrupted by an arrival of German terrorists. The group hold hostages and holly
is one of them. John stays in the building and helps out the hostages by taking
them on to save lives.

8. LOCATIONS OF DIE HARD
Die hard is setting in the Nakatomi Plaza hotel which is in Los Angeles, California.
This hotel is a real hotel also and is not just in the film. However they used the fox
plaza 2121 avenue pf the stars building which is a replica of this hotel. They also
used fox plaza for the interior of the film from floors 29-35. stage 15 of 20th century
fox studios in los Angeles were used also. For the airport scene, this was los Angeles
international airports.

9. BUDGET AND COSTING
The cost of die hard came to a grand total of 28 million U.S Dollars.
However they then grossed 140 U.S Dollars theatrically worldwide in
the box office of this movie, die hard.

The box office of this film was in total $140.8 million. This was as die hard
released in 21 theatres on July 15th 1988 and was later on released in a wider
take across America and then the world totaling $140.8 million.

The target audience for die hard was originally meant to be for the
teens and early 20 years. However, it attracted many more people
than expected.

On release, die hard drew ambivalent reviews from critics. British film critic mark
kermoe expressed admiration for the film, calling it an exciting setup of “cowboys
and indians in the towering inferno.”
On rotten tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 93% based on 67 reviews
and an average rating of 8.4/10..
