2. The proud is about a wacky African American family. a 14 year old girl has to deal with her family especially her dad who can sometimes be overprotective which can be embarrassing at times. As well as dealing with her overprotective family she also has to deal with being a teenager, sorting out her school, friends and even boy troubles! But in the end Penny always has her friends and family to support her.

The language style used in The Proud family is mainly slang, I think the audience is largely targeted to African Americans. they use a lot of slang words and they tone sounds very chilled and ‘ghetto'. They often have running gags in most episode “Oscar's "rivalry" with the talking baby” and the famous catchphrase that the dad uses when he cant deal with penny, “TRUDAAAAAY!”
