3. Bio.Kitchen enables lean and agile development of life science innovation
Biological innovation to date is not
agile. Large investments and time is
required to develop new prototypes
until market readiness. Our mobile
Bio.Kitchen brings agile innovation
into the domains of chemistry,
biology, pharma and medicine.
In our courses we merge the
organic, technical and digital worlds
to generate sustainable generation
of value following the UN “one
health” concept, to give answers to
the challenge of the 21. century:
green economy, food and
healthcare.
Agility: We analyze technology, user
needs and viability in an integrated and
flexible process
Transdisciplinarity: We work across
disciplines
High-Tech Hacking: We hack and
recombine technologies creatively
Rapid Prototyping: we can quickly
iterate and test biological, hardware and
software prototypes in less than a week
Neutral Ground: We dont take any
equity in our users inventions and open
source our own technology
Founder’s Mindset: We enable holistic
education and personality development.
4. Bio.Kitchen is an open community lab for tech-talents and life science innovation
our workstations: Lab.Bio - Micro.Bio - Syn.Bio - Play.Bio

sciences. Our competent team gives practical
workshops and provides a full equipped mobile lab
infrastructure for chemistry, biology, medtech and
material sciences. Participants In our workshops will
be guided from idea to a functional prototype and
then receive further coaching on how to form a
startup and commercialize their ideas and
technologies.

8. Micro.bio Syn.bio mini & max Play.bio Lab.bio
Safely grow, identify and select
microorganisms using a mobile
incubator and autoclave.
Expression of transgenic proteins
is possible with cell free systems.
Syn.bio mini provides DNA analytic
hardware. The Syn.Bio max station
provides the Kilobaser and
Nanopore technologies for
sequencing and synthesis of DNA
of DNA and comes with a
computer to program and analyze
DNA with a QPCR and our
desktop tools.
Our microfluidic toolbox enables
you to 3D print microfluidic
devices. Combine detectors for
optical density measurement with
actuators like pumps and valves
and our open source fluidic bricks
to rapid prototype your own
Bio.Tournament setup.
The station is equipped with a
centrifuge, pipettes, a
transportable fridge and freezer to
keep your reagents fresh and
usable anywhere. The convenient
storage of consumables and the
safe transportation of chemicals
make it the ideal mobile lab
platform.
Our Bio.Kitchen Mobile Lab covers the most relevant processes for early-stage
biological rapid prototyping within four work areas.
9. Our Bio.Kitchen Mobile Lab is a lab-in-a-box for events, education and innovation
We developed four mobile laboratory stations: Lab.bio (comprised of 2 units), Micro.bio, Syn.bio and Play.bio, which
can be easily equipped, transported and operated with minimal logistic effort. The mobile lab is ready to use within
24h, anywhere you want it to be. The full range of our courses can be offered at any preferred location. The lab
storage solution is optimized for our equipment and courses (see previous slide) and is size compatible with
Eurocontainers. Extensions of the table area can be added and stored conveniently for transportation. We offer new
demonstration experiments and the Bio.Tournament program. Of course, the lab itself can be used independently as a
technology support unit for any desired application, too.

Micro.bio Lab.bio
Safely isolate and extract coronaviruses using a mobile
glovebox with underpressure and autoclave to sterilize
contaminated materials. The station is designed for COVID-19
RNA extraction and comes with a RNA extraction kit supply
by Oxgen company. The station turns any tent, airport, or
hospital room or any place you need into a fully functional
biosafety level 2 facility.
The station provides a heat block, pipettes, a fridge and
freezer to keep your reagents fresh. With a heatblock, the
isothermal reaction can be controlled in temperature and
duration. Diagnostic results are documented by a foto with
the users smartphone. The convenient storage of
consumables and the safe transportation of chemicals
make it the ideal mobile lab platform for any environment.

microplastic habitat
Bio.Game teams develop biotechnological innovations and playfully
compete with each other by growing their organisms to explore a
new habitat on a petri dish. Participants learn our unique rapid
prototyping methodology to hack ecology and evolution to outsmart
your opponent bacterial cultures. By building their own open source
lab-on-a-chip “bio playstation” teams can test their ideas in a
