Books-cover
b. https://www.mockupworld.co/free/magazine-on-table-mockup/
c. For this design I used some Photoshop to create the dissolve around the
model and InDesign to finalize the cover product. This design might be
used, as represented in the mockup, as the cover of a magazine. I used
the alignment design principle when placing the text. Aligning the text
with the borders of the page allows the picture of the model to remain
the center of attention while also presenting information. I also used the
contrast design principle using the gold and white color against the green
background making the words appealing and readable. While creating
this design, I made a gold rectangle with a mask on in and used the paint
brush tools after altering the settings to get the dissolved look. Looking
back on making this design, instead of using the paint brush tool to create
the design, I would have instead used an outer glow effect on the layer
with the dissolve blending option as I used in later projects.
2. Weather:

mockup/
b. https://graphictwister.com/downloa/
c. For this design I used Photoshop to create an interactive look on a flat
design. This design can be used as a weather app for many different
kinds of electronics such as on iPhones, Androids, Apple Watches, etc. I
used the contrast design principle by bolding the lines around “Friday”
and the hour by hour weather display in order to create the interactive
feel as though the different days would be clickable to navigate to that
day’s weather. I also used the alignment design principle when placing
the words and boxes in order to make everything organized and give the
design a clean and easy-to-use feel. When creating this design, I learned
how to use the templates online to place your design. For the magazine
design, I cropped and place my image over the mock-up image which
was not the easiest way. With this design, I learned how to click on the
previous design in order to easily place my design to fit the mockup. If I
redid this flat design, I would have added a drop shadow on the box
around “Friday” in order to contribute to the 3-dimensional and
interactive display.
3. Tactical Response Flyer:
2. a. https://graphictwister.com/a4-paper-psd-mockup/
b. https://graphictwister.com/downloa/
c. For this design, I used Photoshop to create a design that can be used as a
flyer, an online design, a billboard, or many other things. I used the
alignment design principle in order to create a flow and easy readability.
I also used the repetition design principle when using the orange and
black colors. I chose these colors because of the Counter Response logo
colors. When creating this design, would have changed some of the
graphics in order to make the design less crowded and allow for a better
flow.
4. Billboard

b. http://freedesignresources.net/free-poster-billboard-mockups/
c. When creating this design, I used Photoshop to create the simple Nike ad.
When creating this design, I used the contrast design principle with the
white and the green colors that stand out against the black for easy
readability and a color pop that draws the audience into the ad. I also
used repetition with the green and white colors for a flow and simplicity
for the ad that gets the point across quickly. When creating this design, I
learned how to create the dissolving outer glow around the shoe that
helped me in other designs later on.
5. Business Card

b. http://www.graphicsfuel.com/dload/?dlink=2017/01/Business-Card-In-
Hand-Mockup
c. When creating this design, I used an InDesign template to create a design
that could be used as a business card. I used the repetition of the red
and black colored font and that also is contrasting against the white
background. When creating this design, I learned how to use InDesign,
since it was my first ever InDesign project. If I redid this design now, I would
have centered the text “MIT Tough Team USA” and “OCR Racing Team”
underneath the MIT Tough Team logo.
6. Calendar

b. http://www.designbolts.com/2014/12/25/free-wall-calendar-2015-design-
template-mockup-psd/
c. When creating this design, I used Photoshop to make a small and simple
design to be used as a desktop calendar, wall calendar, or any other kind
of calendar. When creating this design, I used the alignment principle in
order to create a flow for the numbers of the months. I also used the
repetition of the color pink to create a girly and happy mood. When
3. creating this design I would have changed the level of contrast between
the background and the words in order to create better readability.
7. T-shirt

b.

ockup.zip
c. When creating this design, I used Photoshop to create a simple Skills USA
logo that included our state name. The design uses the dissolve outer
glow effect that I had recently learned in previous designs. I also used the
contrast design principle with the different United States colors to create a
patriotic feel for the design and used the repetition of these colors
throughout. When creating this design, I would go back and change the
overall logo design because I do not feel that the logo is something that
would be attractive to someone to want to buy the shirt.
8. Ticket:

b. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4chiz6uqur1syow/Ticket%20mockup%20(v.ke
tom).psd?dl=0
c. When creating this design, I used Photoshop in order to use the different
blending options for the background images on the tickets. I used the
repetition of the team colors and the contrast between the gray and the
red colors throughout the design. When creating this design I would have
added a drop shadow onto the words “The Ohio State Buckeyes” in order
to add more detail up top and “balance” the design.
9. Flyer Soup for seniors:
a. https://www.freecreatives.com/mockups/flyer-mockups.html
b. http://bluemonkeylab.com/portfolio/free-flyer-poster-mock-up/
c. When creating this design, I used Photoshop. I used a simple background
color and placed a bowl of soup that I used to choose the colors for the
text. I used the contrast design principle because the colors of the text
contrast to the yellow background. The design can be used as a flyer
and the yellow background helps attract attention. I would take off the
drop shadow on the middle brown colored text because it kind of makes
the design too busy when its purpose is to present the information quickly
and simply.
10. Selfie:
a. https://www.mockupworld.co/free/artistic-photo-frame-mockup/
b. https://dealjumbo.com/downloads/free-artistic-frame-mockup/ref/214/
4. c. When creating this design I used Photoshop to create a simplistic yet creative
lettering design. This design can be used as a picture. I used the proximity
design principle by placing the design in the middle. I also used contrast
because of the contrast between the black and white colors that adds to the
simplistic feel of the design. I learned how to manipulate letters with other
shapes while creating this design.
11. Personal Logo:
a. https://www.mockupworld.co/free/illuminated-shop-sign-mockup/
b. http://www.graphicsfuel.com/dload/?dlink=2016/12/Outdoor-Signage-
Mockup-PSD
c. When creating this design I used Photoshop to create a simple design that
uses the contrast design principle with the two blues and the gold halo. This is a
simple design that has my initials and also incorporates the originality of my last
name. I also used the proximity design principle by placing the letters in the
middle of the design. I learned how to create a simple outer glow on the halo
to create the angelic feel.
12. Bubble cake:
a. https://www.mockupworld.co/free/building-billboards-mockup-bundle/
b. http://freedesignresources.net/free-poster-billboard-mockups/
c. This design is part of a gif that I had created in Photoshop. I used the contrast
alignment principle with the contrast between the pink and the white colors. I
also used the proximity design principle when placing the sparkles and the
words “Holiday Specials”. When creating this design I found picture of sparkles
and placed them. Instead I would have placed a box with no fill and added an
outer glow with a dissolve to create more evenly placed sparkles and a better,
more consistent flow.
13. Family Photo:

c. In this design, I used a picture of my sister, my dad and I at Fungi Bay in
Canada. I had used this picture earlier in the year with the 30 day project and
had placed edits on it to whiten teeth and to sharpen the image. I used the
contrast design principle when whitening our teeth, I learned that I didn’t need
to brighten my sister’s teeth as much because the contrast with her braces
made her teeth look noticeably whitened. I also used the alignment design
principle when placing the image in the center of the frame.
14. Oil Painting:
a. https://www.mockupworld.co/free/ornamental-frame-mockups/
5. b. http://www.pixeden.com/psd-mock-up-templates/ornamental-psd-frame-
mockup
c. I used Photoshop to create this design and used the oil paint filter. I used the
repetition and contrast design principles by making sure that the filter was not
over applied and the image was still noticeable and the repetition of the oil
painting filter in both of the frames. I learned how to create the oil paint effect
in Photoshop, however looking back I would have applied this filter to one
vertical picture and one horizontal picture so that they pictures fit better into the
frames.
15. Holiday Card:
a. https://www.mockupworld.co/free/seasonal-greeting-card-mockup/
b. http://www.graphicsfuel.com/dload/?dlink=2016/10/Holiday-Greeting-Card-
Mockup-PSD
c. I used some Photoshop and InDesign to create this card. I followed a tutorial
for InDesign. I also used the InDesign tutorial for snowflakes with the choice
projects for the second nine weeks. This design can be used as a seasonal card
to be send out as a thank you card or as a many other kinds of holiday greeting
cards. When creating this design I learned how to create layers in InDesign.
Looking back I would have used a different, more seasonal font. I used the
Alignment design principle to align the snowflakes with the words so that the
design had a flow that lead to easy readability. I also used the contrast
between the blues and the whites that also created a seasonal mood.
