⢠Social media become publicly available in 2004,
since then it has completely changed the way we
communicate and share information. There are
many popular social media sites that are used on a
daily basis, however through the course of this
presentation we will be focusing on Facebook,
Twitter, and YouTube.
⢠We have access to social media 24/7. It has
completely immersed ourselves in our day to day
life. We access it through our computers, cell
phones, gaming devices, tablets and iPod. It allows
us to share any type of information instantly and
communicate with others that we might not be able
to by other means.

2004. Since then it is virtually
everywhere we look. Each
year marketers come up
with new and interesting
ways to market there
product. Sometimes
making it mandatory for

11. ARE THERE NEGATIVE ASPECTS TO
ADVERTISING IN SOCIAL MEDIA?
Although there are many positive aspects of
advertising in social media, there are always
cons involved. I believe the biggest negative
aspect in using social media as a marketing
tool, is that there has to be constant updates,
and it takes a team of talented people to
design and keep up with the ever changing
market. Conventional advertising (magazines,
television) requires updates and new ads every
several weeks to months. However with the
high demand of social media sites these ads,
must constantly be updated and refreshed 24
hours a day, responding to comments, and
posting new topics. Companies may be
required a special team of people to update
each social media site constantly.
