MATHS - Solving logic puzzles
 Group level: 2nd
graders ( 7 – 8 year-olds)
 The number of students: 18- 24
 Subjects: Maths (with elements of Physical
Education)
 Materials used: self-made worksheet, sticks
(e.g. twigs or from lolly –pops / ice-creams),
cardboard, chalk to draw puzzles on the
school yard / self-made cardboard charts,
some chestnuts or acorns, soft balls, feathers
etc.
 Estimated time: 1 hour

geometrical figures

perseverance in solving tasks

pattern

of a fence,
 to count the steps from one place to another and to
estimate the real distance,
 to recognize the direction of the walk (north, south,
etc.),
 to draw a map of a place with a proper scale,
 to observe the shapes around the area,
 to explore the things around (focus on senses: touch,
smell, sight),
 to study the built of a railway embankment,
 to measure the air purity
