Primary focus of organizational transformation: People
Enhanced individual and organizational R&D operational, adaptive and generative capacity
in NARS for innovation in a market driven environment through:
• Enhanced capacities for more pluralistic research through partnerships (PPP)
• Enhanced knowledge and skills among all professionals in critical areas
(leadership, emerging sciences, research management, technology management,
information management and HRM)
• Institutionalizing a learning organization mode to sustain organizational change
Key Components
• capacity building and human resource development initiatives
• Introduce new models like e-learning, distance learning, etc.
• research to develop novel training materials and learning resources
Reach: all 4 components of NAIP; NARS; 3000 – 4000 people
L&CBL&CB Objectives (based on NAIP - PIP/PAD)
1. L&CB needs assessment (NAARM, IIML)
2. Develop skills in research proposal writing for competitive grant funding of research
consortia (including NAIP Helpdesk) (NAARM)
3. Build capacity in policy and PME (NAARM, IIML, NIRD)
4. Build capacity to use ICTS in PME (NAARM, MANAGE)
5. Enhance skills in IT based DSS (NAARM, IIML, NIRD, MANAGE)
6. Develop skills in managing PPP (NAARM, IIML)
7. Enhance skills of technical/administrative staff (NAARM, MANAGE)
8. Build capacity for new pool of leadership, including international training in frontier
sciences and institutional management ( NAARM, IIML, MANAGE, NAIP, SMDs)
9. Research studies (to support 1- 8 above): organizational change; PPP; PME; analysis
of agri-supply chains; analysis of livelihood systems; ICTs for enhancing agricultural

L&CBExpectations from L&CB initiatives (NAIP - PAD) NAIP – pilot for organizational transformation of NARS to NAIS Primary focus of organizational transformation: People Enhanced individual and organizational R&D operational, adaptive and generative capacity in NARS for innovation in a market driven environment through: • Enhanced capacities for more pluralistic research through partnerships (PPP) • Enhanced knowledge and skills among all professionals in critical areas (leadership, emerging sciences, research management, technology management, information management and HRM) • Institutionalizing a learning organization mode to sustain organizational change Key Components • capacity building and human resource development initiatives • Introduce new models like e-learning, distance learning, etc. • research to develop novel training materials and learning resources Reach: all 4 components of NAIP; NARS; 3000 – 4000 people
