7. My mission is simple; it’s to Awaken, to Bring Forth, to Enlighten. It’s stated that a level of
consciousness is an awareness of the environment that may be altered by sleep, hypnosis, or
substance.
The way I approach art and design is the same way I try to approach life; keep it simple and
uncomplicated. Art should never be complex nor should it seem to be unobtainable. Our brain
constructs our perceptions. Our ability to know where we are, what is going on and other
conscious facts are determined by what our brain interprets and decides about the information
it receives from what the body is sensing.
I strive to give my work simple titles in order to allow the observer to bring as much as their
own personal interpretation into the work as possible. In turn, awakening their creative spirit.

In my earlier works, “The Body and Soul Series”, I wanted to convey a sense of form and
movement through the use of color, and I try to carry that same aesthetic through all my
pieces, and in my opinion, an artist is nothing, if not consistent.
In my work, by layering textures and details I can convey to the viewer, not only movement,
but emotions that will enable and inspire them to express their creative spirit.

The Issue:
The clients would like to capitalize on their
lake view and would like that to serve as
the focal point. The north view from the
kitchen affords views of Lake Shore Drive,
Lake Michigan, and the beach. Navy Pier
can also be seen from the dining room.
Currently, the oversized breakfast bar is
blocking their million dollar view, and due to
their busy social calendar, the kitchen is not
spacious enough to entertain the way they
would like.
The Proposed Solution:
A complete kitchen renovation, eliminating
the laundry room including the interior
walls; eliminating breakfast bar and over-all
configuration, and in its place a large,
“Trough Sink” center island with mini-
beverage fridge and seating for 6. The
clients also expressed a need for a
separate food preparation and clean-up
area with the ability to accommodate
several catering staff members for all tasks
related to preparation, serving, and clean-
up. For this, I am proposing building a
“False Wall” off the foyer that will, not only
house a pocket-sliding frosted glass door
with a Modern Mondrian motif, but will also
conceal the walk through butler’s pantry.
Also, the view from the foyer will show a
modern glass and /or stainless steel,
brushed nickel, eco-friendly fireplace that
features a Bio Ethanol Insert (completely
composed of biological products
resulting in a neutral ecological
balance. The combustion of Bio Ethanol
results in completely clean emissions:
Heat, Steam and Carbon Dioxide.)
Finally, on the fireplace façade, a neutral-
colored, tumbled linear Lime-Stone done in
a “dry-stacked stone” pattern with
iridescent mosaics complimenting the sides
of the stone will further enhance clients
