First, it’s a whirlwind tour through places where we listen. There’s change a foot. Next, level setting on the platforms that allow us to listen and discover. The am / fm radio has company. How many people are really using what. Then, the players. The change in how we listen at home, work, in the car, and on the move combined with new platforms to listen on has created opportunity. Players have emerged to explore new opportunities.
Where listening happens.
Home is waking up in the morning to the radio, it’s listening outside while raking, grilling, have a drink; it’s listening in the living room or family room. And that hasn’t changed. . And that listening behavior hasn’t changed. It’s what we turn to when we decide to listen. And, much of what’s changed the behavior is internet access: wi-fi, 3G, 4G, etc. 86% Percentage of homes connected to broadband
Waking up. The alarm clock shares a space with mobile devices.
Sharing spaces: The portable radio, shares space with mobile devices. Yes, this man is raking.
The home radio. It’s sharing space with all sort of devices.
Sharing spaces: The home radio, hi fi and low fi, share a space with the TV, sometimes the best sound system in the house is the TV. True for anyone here? There are devices connect to the TV like Roku to offer access to radio streams. There’s music streaming on TIVO as well.
Sharing spaces: Sonos. Hi fidelity with digital access.
