Petty Officer James R. Prugger received a Letter of Commendation for his exceptional performance as a Hull Maintenance Technician Second Class aboard the USS John F. Kennedy from September 2006 to April 2007. He supervised and trained 12 junior technicians, directing repairs to over 500 trouble calls and improving quality of life for 2,400 crewmembers. Prugger was also involved in an emergency repair of aft sewage system piping, restoring the system to full capability quickly and saving the Navy over $20,000.
