A wireless sensor network consists of several small battery-powered sensors that can communicate with each other to monitor various fields. Sensing or monitoring is acknowledged as an important metric to measure the quality of service of the wireless sensor network. The applications for such wireless sensor networks exist in a variety of fields including environmental monitoring, surveillance, home security, traffic monitoring, military operations, industrial machine monitoring etc. Each of these domains has great research potential. This STTP aims to provide a platform to Faculty of Engineering colleges, Scientists, Engineers and research scholars to get knowledge about the Wireless Sensor Network. This course would cover topics relevant to the knowledge and recent trends and research in this emerging field of study. The course includes both theoretical lectures and hands on practice sessions on various simulation software related to wireless sensor network.
