Biography
• Kepler was born on December 27, 1571.
• He was born in Weil der Stadt, Württemberg,
  What use to be the Holy Roman Empire and is
  now Germany.
• While he was growing up he was poor and he
  was a sick child.
• He went to University of Tübingen to study
  the Lutheran Ministry.
Biography
• Kepler’s mother, Katharina, was accused of witch
  craft in 1617 by making someone sick by an “evil
  brew” in 1615. She was imprisoned in 1620 for
  fourteen months.
• Kepler’s first marriage was on April 27, 1597 to
  Barbara Müller. They had 4 children but 2 died in
  infancy.
• One of the kids is a girl and was born in 1604 and
  a son born in 1607. The daughter’s name is
  Susana and the son’s name is Friedrich.
Biography
• Johannes Kepler got married for a second time
  on 1613, October 30th. She was 24 at the time
  and her name was Susanna Reuttinger.
• Most of Kepler’s kids died in childhood.
• He had a total of 5 kids out of all his
  marriages.
• Kepler worked for a guy named Tycho Brahe.
• Kepler met Tycho Brahe on February 4th, 1600,
  with his 3 assistants.
Biography
• Kepler stayed in Tycho’s observatory for 2
  months.
• Tycho kept his data very personal, but was
  very impressed Kepler's theoretical ideas and
  soon allowed him more access to his work.
• Later on Kepler and Tycho reached and living
  arrangement and they became partners!
Copernicus’s Theory
• If it wasn’t for Kepler, no one would know that
  Copernicus was right.
• Kepler used reasoning/Logic and math to
  prove that his theory was right.
• He proved that the world does revolve around
  the sun.
• He also proved that the sun is the center and
  all the planets revolve around it.

Kepler’s Death
• Kepler died on November 15th, 1630.
• He died at the age of 58!
• He died in Regensburg, Electorate of Bavaria,
  HRE. (Now Germany)
• He died from a short, small illness.
• He was buried under a Church which was then
  destroyed in the 30 years war.
• His tomb was never recovered.
