Plan de afianzamiento de competencias
1. PLAN DE AFIANZAMIENTO DE COMPETENCIAS
TITULO DEL BLOG:
“STAR ENGLISH”
ENLACE DEL SITIO WEB:
www.iedcandelaria-english.blogspot.com.co
PRESENTACION
Según Alhuwalia et al. (2011) “Blogs are easy to manage and enable students to publish their work in a
chronological manner”.
fortalecimiento de la competencia lectora en los estudiantes en las pruebas Saber en el área de inglés;
responsables, beneficiarios, recursos, evaluación y seguimiento, sugerencias y anexos.

“The Use of Blogs in English Language Learning: A Study of Student Perceptions” de la Revista Profile

Después, vuelven a

7. DESARROLLO DE LAS TEMATICAS
First Stage. Application of Pre tests.
Second Stage. Induction of Use of Blog.
Third Stage. Application of Reading Comprehension workshops.
Four Stage. Application of Post tests.

cuestionario en el cual los estudiantes del grado 11° deben responder acorde al uso y conocimiento del blog;
gramatical.

5. Which advertisement would be the best for
promoting a sport academy?
A.
B.
C.
D.
Many high school and college athletes strive to become skilled at their sport in order to
become highly paid professional athletes. Professional athletes can make huge salaries,
for example, in his last year with the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association,
Michael Jordan was paid about $36 million. He made almost double that amount in
endorsements of certain products (such as food, underwear, and a phone).
Many people feel that professional athletes are too highly paid and other professionals
such as hospital workers and teachers are underpaid. This has always been a great
debate.

5. Where is the excess bile store?
A) In the gall bladder.
B) In the bile.
C) In the cavities.
THE HUMAN LIVER
The Human liver is composed of the right lobe (the largest), the left lobe and two small lobes that are
located behind the right lobe. Each lobe is composed of small multisided units called lobules. Most livers
have between 50.000 and 100.000 lobules. The essential work in each lobule is performed by a bundle of
liver cells that surround the central vein found in each lobule. These bundles, often called sheets, are
separate by cavities known as sinusoids. It is the presence of these sinusoids that accounts for the liver’s
somewhat spongy texture and its ability to absorb large amounts of blood. Each lobule also contains
structures called bile capillaries. These very small tubes carry the bile that is continuously secreted by the
liver cells, even of the absence of digestion in the small intestine. The bile capillaries come together to
form bile ducts, which function to remove the bile from the liver. Finally, these ducts, after leaving the liver,
come together to form the hepatic duct. Excess bile goes to the gall bladder where it stores for later use.

BETTER ZOOS
There was a time when zoos were terrible places for animals to live. Even the largest animals
were confined to small uncomfortable cages. Restless beasts paced back and forth in their
prisons, as countless visitors passed bu. While some zoos are still throwbacks to this era, more
and more zoos have changed. Wild animals are now housed in larger areas that more closely
resemble their natural habitats. This makes the existence of the animals much more pleasant. It
also provides a better educational experience to visitors. Children and adults can see scenes that
show more accurately how animals live in the wild. Hopefully the day will come when all zoos will
be humane places that give top priority to the needs of their animals while creating ideal
educational exhibits.

The passengers were sitting in their seat on the aeroplane.
≪The plane is leaving in a few minutes,≫ said the stewardess. ≪Enjoy your flight.≫
Time passed quickly. But near the end of the flight, trouble began.
≪I think one of the engines is failing,≫ the pilot said.
≪Will we reach London?≫ asked the co-pilot.
≪We’re going to try,≫ answered the pilot.
Soon the passengers realised there was a problem. ≪What’s the matter?≫ they
shouted. ≪What will happen? Will we die?≫
The stewardess talked to the passengers. ≪Don’t be nervous,≫ she said. ≪We’re
having a little trouble, but we’re going to try an emergency landing in Manchester.≫
After a few frightening minutes, the aeroplane landed safely.
One man turned to the person next to him. ≪Were you frightened?≫ he asked.
≪Don’t be silly,≫ the man answered. ≪That engine was on the other side of the plane.≫

The Dream
(by Mark Strand)
There is the sleep of my tongue
Speaking a language I can never
remember-
Words that enter the sleep of words
Once they are spoken.
There is the sleep of one moment
Inside the next, lengthening the night,
And the sleep of the window
Turning the tall sleep of trees into glass.

Simple the Best
I call you when I need you, my heart’s on fire.
You come to me, come to me, free and wild.
Oh, you come to me, give me everything I need.
You give me a lifetime of promises, and a world of dreams.
You speak the language of love- oh, you know what it means.
And it can´t be wrong. Take my heart and make it strong.
You’re simply the best, better than all the rest,
Better than anyone, anyone I ever met
I’m in love with your heart. I remember every word you say.
Don’t tear us apart- baby, I would rather be dead.
Each time you met me I start losing control.
You’re walking away with my heart and my soul.
I can feel it even when I’m alone. Oh, baby, don´t go!

It´s Christmas Eve today- 24 December- and I´m thinking… thinking back to Christmas in
England… thirty, no, thirty-five years ago… when I was six, seven, eight years old…
Eleven o´clock on Christmas Eve and it was time for bed. We put our stockings at the ends
of our beds. At night, while we were sleeping, Father Christmas came down the chimney,
and in the morning our stockings were full… full of presents! “Look!” “What have we got”
“Oh lovely!” “Me too.”…
At Christmas dinner there were my parents, my brother and sisters, my
grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins. We used to have turkey for dinner roast
turkey with potatoes, peas, carrots and gravy. And then we had Christmas pudding and
mince pies. And after dinner we had more presents- the presents under the Christmas tree.
At 3 o´clock we used to watch the Queen on television. Then, while my grandparents (and
some of our parents) were sleeping in their chairs, we played Monopoly and cards. Later,
when we were watching The Magnificent Seven on television. Mum used to make tea.
After tea, Uncle George started singing
Christmas carols like “Silent Night” and “Jingle Bells” and soon we were all singing.
Bed by 11, and the next day… Boxing day… Christmas in England in the 1960s…
It seems like only yesterday.
