● Usually as a result of socialisation, people of different
genders behave distinctively.
● Then reflected in how they parent.
● Child will see how parents & carers behave, as role
models eg doing tasks, relationships, clothing. may
stereotype.

● Messages may be subtle over time that reinforce or
challenge stereotypes.
● Media allows exposure to support eg financial, eg
government, respite care, service information that
supports parents & carers in their roles.
