10. Which of these do you think our students believe they have mastered the most? Why?
11. Which of these do you feel we address the best in our instruction sessions? Answers: Access and mechanics After all, if students went away from the Library not knowing how to access the needed information, how could they adequately develop competencies in the other areas. How could they complete their assignment.
12. Where should we focus our attention? Access and evaluation See previous slide. With only 50 minutes to work with classes, we need to make sure students know how to access the resources. Knowing the extent of information that they need Discussion on working with instructors to know the assignment indicated that that would help a bunch with teaching students how much information they might need.
Editor's Notes
WOW! That’s a lot of information for one slide. Should I print out these points on a handout for them to look at individually? Then perhaps it would be good condense it down to the main points and ask a question. What would be a good question here? Divide into groups of two or three and have students do one of several things. 1. Order the list from easiest to most difficult to achieve. 2. Identify one or two that you think you as a teacher need the most help on. 3. Which one of these do you think students need the most help with? Freshmen? Seniors? Grad students?
