A 25-year-old female underwent a chest x-ray following a traffic accident. The x-ray showed a normal sized heart with clear lungs and normal vascular branches. Fractures were observed in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th left anterior ribs and 5th left posterior rib. Blunting of the left costophrenic sinus was seen, suspected to be due to a hematothorax. No lung contusions or pneumothoraces were observed.
