Market research firm Mintel has
touted “Rethinking Plastic” as
a global consumer trend
Consumers have developed a
keen desire to minimize the
plastic in their lives
World is abuzz with anti-plastic
activity – even in the highest
echelons of government.
5. Coming up with an Idea of Matuto
Our vision in starting Matuto is to offer packaging to businesses that meet our
goals of making environmentally friendly, using more recycled materials for
packaging and reducing the amount of plastics in packaging.
We are a tiny player looking for a way to differentiate ourselves — to serve
Businesses better than the big packaging companies and what other competitors
do.
Hundreds of packaging companies provide access to packaging to firms all over
the World. They make plastic and other non-biodegradable packaging for firms
and companies except for us because we use Stone wool, Bioplastic, PET,
Shower-friendly paper, Silber board – metallized paper and Milk plastic in
packaging different products. With these measures, we are reversing the trend in
the use of plastics.
Our mission is to inspire and nurture the human spirit – Package in a GREEN
way.
In the near future, we are poised to reduce plastic and make a plastic free world
of packaging. and reduce carbon footprint.
6. WHY OUR IDEA IS PROFITABLE?
6
As consumers become more environmentally conscious and hold businesses and their packaging standards to
account, the hope is that companies will be incentivized to produce and package more responsibly and
Businesses that are trying to shift to recyclable packaging are our 100% customers.
PACE reports, innovative delivery models and changing use patterns are calculated to be worth
approximately $9 billion to the plastics industry.
Business’s reputation will increase who would use our company’s packaging as enterprises that embrace a
proactive, technology savvy, and holistic approach will get ahead of the curve and reap the many benefits of
going the green mile.
Adopting a sustainable approach to their supply chains are significantly more cost-efficient
Being at the forefront of innovation, especially in terms of packaging materials - Stone wool, Bio plastic, PET,
Shower-friendly paper, Silber board – metallized paper and Milk plastic - Matuto’s strategy is to leverage
strengths in innovation and supply chain to create an open, scalable, economically viable solution.

Stone wool
•
Stone wool comes from natural igneous
rock—the kind that forms after lava cools –
and a steelmaking byproduct called slag;
these substances are melted together and
spun into fibbers, a little like candy floss. This
incredible innovation has several possible
packaging applications. It can be used as a
paper or plastic alternative, being printable,
recyclable, water-proof… and its eco-
credentials look pretty good too. Stone paper
can also be used to make FDA certified food
grade packaging. This can be used for
making paper (supermarket singlet) bags,
takeaway food cartons, greaseproof paper
wraps as well as zip lock bags.

Bio plastic
A bio plastic is a substance made from
organic biomass sources, unlike
conventional plastics which are made from
petroleum . Bio plastic are made through a
number of different processes. Some use a
microorganism to process base materials,
such as vegetable oils, cellulose, starches,
acids and alcohols .Bio plastics are used
for disposable items, such as packaging,
crockery, cutlery, pots, bowls, and
straws. Few commercial applications exist
for bio plastics. In principle they could
replace many applications for petroleum-
derived plastics
10. Shower Friendly
Paper
It is made from 93-100% natural
ingredients cruelty free, paraben-free
etc . The outer card is recyclable,
compostable, glue-free and water-
resistant. The inner liner is made with
recyclable plastic, and uses 60% less
material than regular plastic bottles .It
is used to make wine, pet food, protein
powders, and laundry detergent ,
shampoo bottles .It consists of a
molded-pulp outer shell made from
recycled corrugated and old
newspapers that can be recycled up to
seven times.

PET (Polyethylene
terephthalate)
It has higher strength and stiffness than
PBT.It is very strong and lightweight &
hence easy and efficient to transport
It is known for its good gas (oxygen,
carbon dioxide) and moisture barrier
properties. It is recyclable and transparent
to microwave radiation
PET is approved as safe for contact with
foods and beverages by the FDA, Health
Canada, EFSA & other health agencies
12. 12
Silber board- metalized paper
Developed as a sustainable
alternative to traditional composite
metalized papers and
boards, Silberboard is both
recyclable and compostable. The
paper weight can be used for food
on-the-go and labelling, the card
weight can be used for all kinds of
boxes – for food, household goods,
pharmaceuticals etc.
13. 13
Milk Plastic
Casein – the protein found in milk –
has been used to make plastic for
over a century, but it went out of
fashion in favor of the more
hardwearing, long-lasting
petrochemical variety. Lactips have
developed tech that combines the
protein with clay and a reactive
molecule (glyceraldehydes) which
make the plastic much stronger,
but still biodegradable. Lactips
already produce milk plastic for the
detergent industry

Who are they?
According to a 2014 report ,on their food choices and eating habits only
26%, Millennials use all the same kind of products and brands as their
parents . They have vastly different priorities when it comes to
products-and it impacts the kinds of packaging that meet their needs.
Why recyclable packaging best suits their packaging needs?
•It’s lightweight and portable –a key consideration for online grocery
shoppers . Nearly two-thirds of American Millennials shop online weekly
for groceries and this demographic has potential to transform the retail
grocery business.
16. 16
Who are they?
The rise of this out of home , on the go consumption has fueled demand
for packaging that is comfortable to hold , resalable and portion
controlled.
Why recyclable packaging best suits their packaging needs:
THE WINE DRINKER:
It is shatter resistant.
•It is lightweight and portable.
17. 17
Who are they?
Basing their buying decisions on many things beyond price , the health and safety conscious
consumer wields an influence over businesses that has never been seen before.
Why PET best suits their packaging needs:
• PET is an inert material resistant to chemical and biological breakdown. It is 100%safe
and recognized as such by the US Food and Drug administration and other regulatory
authorities worldwide. (Petra)
18. 18
Who are they?
Quick to jump on new trends and try new things , the brand over is someone
who is wiling to spend money on what matters and resonates with them.
Why recyclable packaging best suits their packaging needs:
•Manufacturers can use shape, leading edge technology and bespoke bottle
design to create innovative packaging enabling brands to build identity and
delivering unique brand experience.
19. 19
Who are they?
The eco-friendly consumer cares deeply about their environmental footprint ,particularly when it
comes to fast moving consumer goods and disposable packaging.
Why recyclable packaging best suits our packaging needs:
Many people think glass bottles for the environment than plastic , but glass bottles actually require
46% more greenhouse gas4es and 55%more energy to produce than plastic bottles.

A TAX THAT WILL EMPTY THE POCKETS OF
PRODUCTION COMPANIES
World-leading new tax will be levied
from April 2022 on the production
and import of plastic packaging with
less than 30% recycled content.
The government wants to shift the
economic incentives involved in the
production of more sustainable
plastic packaging, encouraging
greater use of recycled plastic and
helping to reduce plastic waste. This
complements the government’s
proposals for reformed Packaging
Producer Responsibility regulations.
