2. When I look at my under “Traffic Referral
Sources”, LinkedIn is on position number one. Each month I get a
lot of traffic to my site that comes through LinkedIn.
A study by Hubspot, an Inbound Marketing agency has shown
that LinkedIn has the highest visitor-to-lead conversion rate,
277% higher than Twitter & Facebook. In other words this means
that traffic that comes from LinkedIn to my site, has a 277%
higher chance to convert into a lead (speak “potential client”)
than if it came from Twitter or Facebook.

3. Why is that?
Because LinkedIn has a very targeted audience. It is an adult,
business oriented crowd. So this makes for very targeted traffic.
In this post I want to show you why LinkedIn drives so much
traffic to my site.
There are four main reasons in my opinion.

4. Reason Number 1 My blog url is in my headline
Blogging is part of what I do, it belongs to my job description. That’s why I decided to add
“Blogger at www.simplicityadmins.ch/blog” to my LinkedIn headline. It’s not a clickable
link, but if people are curious they can copy paste that link into their browser.
If you decide to do the same, make sure you have something to share with the people
who land on your site. Such as blog content, a give away, free webinars etc. I wouldn’t
recommend adding your website in your headline if it’s just a static site with no added
value to the visitor.

5. Reason Number 2 My website & blog urls are in my profile
In your profile you have the option to create link love
to your websites. LinkedIn gives you the opportunity to
add 3 links. Take advantage of it!
Even if you only have one website, I’m sure have more than one page on that site. So use
three different landing pages. For example one to your blog, one to your Freebie and why
not add one to your testimonials page.
And then customize these links. Don’t just use the default option that LinkedIn gives you
such as “Company website” or “Blog”. Boring ! Click on the “Edit” button & choose
“Other” in the drop-down menu. Then give your site or blog a name that makes people
want to click on it !

6. Reason Number 3 I share lots of content on LinkedIn
The third reason is that I write
regular blog posts (1 per
week) and whenever I post a
new one, I share it with my
LinkedIn network in the
updates and sometimes also
directly on groups which could
be interested in that specific
content.
If people are interested in the topic, they can then click on the link and will be redirected
to my site. I also have a “LinkedIn Share button” on each of my blog posts, so people can
share it with their network on LinkedIn.
