Networking – new dimensions • the Web2.0 „Community Internet“ – direct networking of millions of people – Meeting in forums, chatrooms, platforms , – In social networks, business networks. • e.g. cochlear groups in Facebook • YouTube: millions of videos.: “cochlea” 1100 • Comments, articles – to exchange opinions, interests and information • really unique and new: – millions can network & find friends through filters

Requirements technical • PC or (better) Laptop: – new generation of “Nettops” - 400 € – Wifi/WLAN/Hotspot ability – Headset: earphones & microphone • Software: – free/open source software (skype, Open Office,..) – Live Online: 100 $ p.M. / free • Broadband Internet access: where ? – at home, Parents Club, Hotels with WLAN(Hotspot“)

Mind set: A – be visible new dimension • Up to now: show up in meetings → friends, new people – However: “visibility”: also “audibility” and “writability” – talk to others - write a letter, ? an email • What is new in the Internet – Web2.0 ? – Easy reading, commenting, publishing in forum, chat, Weblog – see Conference Blog – easy to upload photos and Videos → YouTube – so called “rich media” = text, photo,video
  10. 10. Mind set: A / 2 – be visible new dimension • most interesting environment: LiveOnline rooms – meet participants from whole over the world – sitting comfortably at home, hotel, restaurant – hold presentation, show your desktop, photos

Mindset B – be sharing Sharing is more than just Communication • new in the Internet Web2.0 ? – New understanding of open exchange of information and knowledge (Wikipedia) – Incredibly much information available cost free • „Knowledge is power“: still valid, but – no more having but rather sharing knowledge. – Slogan “markets are conversations”

Mindset B / 2 – be sharing • Tools basis: – so called “social software”: Forums, Weblog, Wiki, platforms to share photos, videos, – social networks, business network platforms • easy accessible platforms for • making new friends and finding old friends • and again: : LiveOnline rooms – the most social software – integrating the three basic “culture techniques” → listening/speaking + writing/reading + presenting
