Project Coordinator – Sustainable livelihood interventions for 600 SC families in Jharsuguda – Supported by OSFDC
Project Profile: The project aims at organizing the excluded SC/ST Households into representational institutions-SHG, Farmer
Producers Company for financial mainstreaming and their effective participation in sub-sector value chains through
interventions in agriculture and Livestock development. SC/ST households those who are currently living below the poverty
line would be organized in a institutional forms and would be provided with technical, financial and business development
services for their livelihoods improvement.
Project Profile: The proposed project would create sustainable livelihoods opportunities for 600 poor Scheduled Caste families
of selected villages of Jharsuguda. In a cluster development approach these targeted households would be provided with
technical and financial support for improvement in their livelihoods through intervention in agriculture and livestock
development. Successful demonstration model would be grounded for wide dissemination of knowledge in the field of advance
agriculture technology and livestock rearing.
Roles & responsibility
 Overall coordination, planning, execution and management of the project; liaison with the stakeholders especially with
district administration and external stakeholders / government departments and documentations and reporting
 Leveraging government schemes/subsidies/programs related to agriculture and livestock development
 Ensuring demonstration on standard cultivation practices in agriculture and best rearing methods in livestock
 Responsible for implementation and monitoring of livelihoods program with special focus to agriculture promotion
 Responsible for organizing buyer seller meet to market the agricultural commodities
 Responsible for conducting studies / feasibility analysis / market potential analysis and surveys required for the
targeted enterprises related to agriculture
 Responsible for mobilizing required subsidies/grants from the Agriculture/Horticulture department for demonstration
and implementation of agricultural initiatives.

Vedanta Aluminium Ltd, through extension of financial and business development services. The project was based on a
livelihood Finance approach through a SHG-Cooperative model. Subhalaxmi Mahila Samabaya Ltd, a self help women institution
has been promoted and strengthened under this project.
 Overall coordination, planning, execution and management of the project; liaison with the stakeholders especially with
district administration and external stakeholders / government departments and documentations and reporting
 Formation and strengthening of Self-Help women cooperative and providing financial and livelihoods services to its
members
 Developing and maintaining effective collaboration and alliances with government counterparts, NGOs, consulting
institutions, micro-finance and Livelihood networks, financial institutions and donors.
 Develop policy documents of the cooperative and maintaining legal compliances
 Overall responsible for documentation and reporting of all the activities concerned with Livelihood promotion and will
ensure timely and correct reports submission to all the stakeholders of the Project including the Project Team Leader.
