Editor's Notes

  1. We will be looking at how to start HSMS. First, we will see how to request for authority to access HSMS and how to change the type of authority, then we will move on to installing and accessing HSMS.
  2. Prior to learning how to use HSMS, one needs to figure out how to request authority to use LG supplier portal. In order for personnel with a supplier to use HSMS, it is necessary to request authority to use LG supplier portal. LG Supplier portal can be accessed via ① www.lgesuppliers.com and ② authorized users can log on to it by entering ID and Password. If a user is not registered with LGE supplier portal, ③ he or she can select New supplier registration.
  3. If you requested New User Request, you need to check out information on a supplier. In order to check out information on a supplier, ① you may select one among vendor Registration No., LGE Vender Code and LGE Pre Vender Code to confirm personnel with a supplier. ②If the same supplier is registered with vendor Registration No., you may select a vendor for which authority is requested, before proceeding with the next step. ③It changes to User Information Registration Screen after confirmation on information on a company, you may enter basic information on a user for which HSMS authority will be requested. At that time, ④HSMS mail is automatically sent via registered e-mail and telephone number to contact a person in charge of division and corporate division, so make sure to accurately indicate telephone number and e-mail. If you enter user information before ⑤ clicking Next Button,, ⑥ a screen to indicate completion of user registration. If you press Close Button, you may return to the start-up screen of Supplier portal.
  4. ①If you log on to Supplier portal, ②a following screen appears. You may request HSMS authority ③by pressing System access Request Button among left-hand side menus. If you click System access Request Button, ④an available system appears on the screen. ⑤If you click HSMS checkbox before ⑥clicking submit Button, request for authority is completed. If personnel with a supplier ~requested HSMS authority, he or she may immediately use HSMS without following approval procedure.
  5. It pertains to how to access and install HSMS. A user with a supplier gains access to HSMS by logging on to Supplier portal before clicking ①HSMS system among left-hand menus. A user with a supplier accessing HSMS for the first time needs to install Active X to gain normal access to HSMS. If Active X is not installed, ② an installation window automatically appears to proceed with installation. If an installation window appears, you need to click ③ Active x Download Button at the bottom right. ④If a message asking you if you want to download a file through the use of a pop-up window, ⑤ you may click Execute Button. ⑥If Active X Installation screen appears, ⑦ you may proceed with installation by pressing Next Button. If installation is completed, it automatically ⑭ returns to the Supplier portal screen. You may ⑮access HSMS by clicking HSMS system at the left-side menu.
  6. It pertains to how to check permitted standards by material prior to registration of homogeneous material. It is very important that a user with a supplier is aware of the Division his or her company is dealing with as well as their permitted standards at a time of checking permitted standards by material LGE is dealing with permitted standards by material in each division, and it is important to make sure that permitted standards suggested by a pertinent division are not exceeded at a time of establishing material information on the part of a supplier. If material exceeding permitted standards of LGE is included at a time of submitting data, the data is automatically stopped from being submitted, and it is automatically prevented to check permitted standards by division. Accordingly, if you are not familiar with permitted standards suggested by a pertinent division, normally submitted data might be rejected if permitted standards are exceeded. In order to avoid overlapping, make sure to check permitted standards suggested by a pertinent division and the company prior to establishment of material information. After accessing HSMS, you may click ②“Permissible level by material ” Menu below ①Parts Information. You may select ③a division and a affiliate to be checked before ④ clicking Inquiry. If the entire division is searched, you may check permitted standards by material in the entire division, but it might cause difficulties due to system overload and too much information, so it is recommended to select a pertinent division and a pertinent affiliate for inquiry. If permitted standards are inquired ⑤ by classified material and by ⑥LEVEL A-I, LEVEL A-II and LEVEL-B, ⑦ upper figures in the same classified material indicate enterprise-wide permitted standards of LG, and the lower figures indicate ⑧ permitted standards suggested by a division / affiliateto be checked.
  7. It pertains to the concept of material information system and homogeneous material managed by LGE in addition to how to register and inquire about homogeneous material. Material information management system in LGE is managed based on parts for which suppliers are to submit material information. As you can see in the screen, ①parts consist of ② sub parts, and the sub parts are composed of ③homogeneous material, and the homogeneous material consists of ④ substance. Parts are based on the unit supplied to LGE by primary partners, and ⑤Power cord or packing vinyl can be cited as examples. sub parts are subordinate parts needed to make parts. They are manufactured by primary partners or they are used to make parts after being supplied by secondary partners. As you can see, ⑥wire, cord and plug are needed to make power cord, and they are called sub parts. Homogeneous material is the unit constituting sub parts, and it can be physically disassembled. After being physically disassembled through cutting or scratching, it can maintain its unique property. Take wire for instance. Wire consists of external cable and internal cable. The internal cable consists of the sheath of the cable such as plastic and wire such as metal. As wire can be disassembled into external cable, internal cable and metal through cutting or peeling, homogeneous material indicates ⑦ plastic constituting internal and external cable and metal constituting wire. substance indicates single chemical material with ⑧ Cas No., the unique number of material. LGE establishes material information based on homogeneous material unit. Suppliers may homogeneous material registration ls in advance to use them in various parts at the same time, and they can Homogeneous management infos at any time if necessary.
  8. It pertains to how to inquire about and homogeneous material registration l. Prior to registration of material information of parts in HSMS, you need to enter homogeneous material. Registration of homogeneous material is a basic process of registration of material information. When a user with a supplier establishes material information on parts, it is established through the use of registered homogeneous material or registration of new homogeneous material. Accordingly, if errors occur at a time of registering homogeneous material, errors occur in material information on all parts using pertinent homogeneous material. For this reason, it is a very important process to inquire about and homogeneous material registration l. Prior to registration of new homogeneous material, you need to check if similar or identical homogeneous material has been registered. Only when there is no identical homogeneous material, new homogeneous material can be registered. As for registered homogeneous material, you can set inquiry conditions in a menu to homogeneous material registration before checking them out. ①In the homogeneous material inquiry screen, you can inquire about the name of homogeneous material and the supplier of homogeneous material, and you can select content of hazardous substance, maintenance target and out-of-product before filtering. If you enter the name of homogeneous material to be searched ②where the name of homogeneous material is entered before clicking ③ search Button, homogeneous material registered in ④a pertinent name is inquired. ⑤Of inquiry results, if you click the name of homogeneous material indicated in blue, you may check detailed information. If there is no homogeneous material to be searched, you need to click ⑥Add New Button for new registration. First of all, ① of inquiry conditions in a menu to homogeneous material registration l, ② you may select Check out-of-product before ③ clicking search Button. If out-of-product homogeneous material is inquired, you may click ④ the name of homogeneous material to move to a detailed screen. If you click ⑤ Terminate the out-of-production of LGE P/No. Button at the top right, out-of-product is cancelled, and pertinent homogeneous material can be inquired at a time of establishing material information again.
  10. It pertains to how to register new homo. material You may proceed with registration of new homogeneous material in ① a menu to homogeneous material registration by clicking ②Add New Button. If you click Add New Button, it moves to a screen to register new homo. material In order to Homogeneous management info, you need to select one between Material classification and Sub group. If you click ③ Magnifier Button next to Sub group , ④ information of material window appears. ⑤If you search and click material to be registered among materials indicated in List, ⑥Material classification and Sub group are automatically entered. And then, you may enter ⑦ the name of homogeneous material and Supplier. Mandatory entry items include Material classification , Sub group, the name of homogeneous material and Supplier. If you additionally enter material grade and homogeneous material explanation, it will be helpful at a time of searching homogeneous material in the future.
  11. After entry of basic information on homogeneous material, you may register testing report. First of all, you may click ①Level A-I to enter concentration of 6 hazardous substances in RoHS in reference to testing report. First of all, you may enter ② concentration of harmful substances indicated in testing report in HSMS. At that time, if concentration of 6 hazardous substances in RoHS exceed LGE standards, it is impossible to homogeneous material registration l. If you have finished entering test equipment, you may ④ enter a test place in the same way as test equipment. An analyzer is an Certified institute, In house test can be entered, and LGE recommends you to have testing report issued by a certified institute.
  12. After entering 6 hazardous substances in RoHS , you may register testing report by using ①Register Button at the right-hand side of testing report Menu. After registering testing report, you may enter hazardous substances subject to analysis, testing report No., test institute and the report issued date. You may select and register ② a harmful substance that was analyzed. ③ As for testing report No., you may enter the same number indicated in testing report. ④ As for an analyzing institute, you may select an institute that issued testing report, and if ⑤there is no test institute in a window to search an test institute, you may enter and register an test institute in person. As for the date of testing report, ⑥you may check out testing report and enter the same date as indicated in it. When you enter the date of testing report, you need to register testing report issued within 2 years.
  13. It pertains to how to enter Level A-II/B. Level A-II/B is a step to enter additional information on material internally managed by LGE although it is not restricted in accordance with regulations. It can be entered in the same way as Level A-I.
  14. It pertains to how to register Substance Name. Substance Name is a step to enter substance constituting homogeneous material. At a time of entering substance, you need to enter substance name and composition ratio through the use of evidential data on material information acquired from a supplier of raw materials. As evidential data, MSDS, Mill sheet and material declaration can be registered, and the evidential data need to include CAS No. the name of material and composition ratio. Of various evidential data, MSDS is universally used, and you can download MSDS on the homepages of such raw material provides as LG Chem and BASF. It pertains to how to register substance. If you click ① Register Button at the right-hand side of Substance Name, ② a pop-up window to search /register substance appears. You may search substance registered in HSMS Data Base through the use of the name of substance, CAS No., a chemical formula and EC No. As material with various names exists, it is recommended to conduct search through the use of CAS No. You may inquire about material you intend to register in reference to MSDS. If you ④ check out substance you intend to register among inquired materials before pressing ⑤ Confirm Button, pertinent substance is registered in HSMS. If the material you intend to search is not inquired, you may contact a person in charge of Division admin or HSMS master admin . If you ⑦ have registered all materials registered in MSDS in HSMS, you may ⑧ enter it in HSMS in reference to composition ratio registered in MSDS. ⑨The total of each composition ratio needs to be 100%, and of substances, material with the highest composition ratio is set as a representative composition material. If composition ratio is registered as the value of range in MSDS, you need to enter the maximum value in the pertinent range in HSMS, and if the maximum value exceeds 100% at a time of entry, it needs to be adjusted to 100 %. If the total of composition ratio of substance is less than 100%, it is impossible to homogeneous material registration l. If you have finished entering all substances and composition ratio through the use of MSDS, you may ⑩register MSDS used as a basis before ⑪ pressing Save Button to register new homo. material
  15. It pertains to how to register confidential material at a time of registering substance. If material kept confidential by a supplier exists, or if such information as CAS No. and composition ratio is omitted from evidential data, it is possible to register confidential material. If disclosure is impossible as a core technology of a supplier, it can be registered as confidential material. If CAS No. and composition ratio is omitted in evidential material, it can be registered as confidential material as well. If ① you press Register Button in the same way as registration of new homogeneous material, ② a pop-up window enabling you to inquire about substance appears. If you set ③Substance Synonym as an inquiry condition in a screen to inquire about registration of substance in order to register confidential material before inquiring about Confidential, the name of material and CAS No. that are kept confidential are inquired on a list. If there is one confidential material, you may ④ select Confidential1. If there exist various confidential materials, you may classify them through numbering like Confidential 2 and Confidential 3. If you ⑤ click Confirm Button after selecting confidential material, a warning message reading that it is necessary to attach LGE Non-Use certificate appears, and ⑥ confidential material is registered in HSMS. ⑦ If you have finished registering all materials registered in MSDS in HSMS, ⑧ you need to enter it in HSMS in the same way in reference to composition ratio registered in MSDS. The total of composition ratio of each substance needs to be 100%, and of substances, the material with the highest composition ratio is set as a representative substance. You may download SVHC warranty by using ⑨ Download the non SVHC warranty Button at the bottom of the screen. As the SVHC warranty is updated whenever SVHC candidate material is added, make sure to check if the SVHC warranty to be downloaded includes all disclosed SVHC materials before ⑩ registration. Whenever SVHC candidate material is added, the added material and the updated SVHC warranty are shared through a HSMS bulletin board, make sure to refer to them at a time of registering SVHC warranty.
  16. It pertains to how to establish SVHC warranty. The SVHC warranty needs to indicate the supplier that submits the SVHC warranty, related information, the date and the signature of a person in charge with the supplier submitting the SVHC warranty. If the signature of a person in charge with the supplier submitting the SVHC warranty is omitted, the SVHC warranty is not recognized, so material information can be returned. It needs to be kept in mind that it is necessary to check if ①SVHC candidate material is the updated SVHC warranty at a time of registering the SVHC warranty.
  17. It pertains to a step to register material information in HSMS. Registration of material information consists of request for material information on parts that personnel with LGE receives from a supplier, submission of material information on pertinent parts for which registration was requested through HSMS and reviewed approval on material information personnel with LGE submits to a supplier. In Request supplier to register Step, personnel with LGE requests personnel with a supplier to enter material information of parts. In Data Submission Step, a supplier requested to conduct registration by a division register material information in HSMS along with such evidential data on material information as testing report and MSDS and SVHC warranty Documents. In Reviewed Approval Step, the appropriateness of material information submitted by a supplier is judged, and it is examined to see if pertinent parts are subject to a certification test. If material information that turns out to be appropriate is approved, it is referred to DQMS to see if pertinent parts are subject to a certification test. If the parts turn out not to be subject to a certification test, a reason for not referring to a certification test is selected before approval, and review on material information is completed. If the parts are subject to a certification test, the HSMS status changes into part_ testing status, and the HSMS status changes according to the result of a certification test.
  18. It pertains to how to respond to a request for registration of material information by LGE. First of all, parts to be registered need to be searched. In order to search parts to be registered, a menu to ② part hazardous profile regstration among subordinate menus of ① parts information needs to be used. You can ③ inquire about Part No. for which registration has been requested through the use of such search conditions as Division / affiliate, Part Number and Progress. In particular, if you select Progress as request for registration before inquiry, you can confirm the entire Part No. that you have been requested to register. If you click ④LGE Part No. or LGE Class Name indicated in blue among research results, you can move to a screen to Mgt of hazardous profile. It pertains to progress with regard to new parts prior to how to register material information of parts. If you ⑤ select Progress as new parts, you can choose Not Requested, Requested, Temp_New, Submitted, Waiting for Warranty Approval, Part Testing, Approved_Review, Approved_Test, Conditional Approval, Approved_Warranty, Approved_Admin, Rejected, Rejected_Test, Rejected_Admin.
  19. If you select new parts, it proceeds as follows. You can learn what each status value means by taking a look at the screen.
  20. If you search parts for which material information needs to be registered before clicking LGE Part No. or LGE Class Name, the following screen appears. ①As for how to register material information, make sure to enter Part. No. managed by other company than LGE in Maker Part Number instead of LGE Part No. ② Maker Parts Name needs to be Parts Name managed by a supplier. ③ At a time of entering the weight of parts, actual parts are measured before ④selection of the unit of the weight. It pertains to self declaration, Material profile, exception Clause, an improvement plan and composition items specified in Registration Menu. ⑤self declaration Step is to agree to ⑥4 items. ⑦ You may go over to the next step by clicking a checkbox in front of agreement to the above-mentioned description. If you do not agree to Non-Use Guarantee, you cannot go over to the next step, so make sure to agree to it.
  21. It pertains to how to enter material profile. If you click Material profile, the following screen appears. You may register sub parts and homogeneous material in two ways including ① Refer to /Copy Similar Parts and ② Add sub part name. You may also register material information by adding the name of sub part in two ways including ③ Assign homo. Material registered and ④ register new homo. material
  22. It pertains to how to enter material information by using ①Refer to/Copy Similar Parts. Refer to/Copy Similar Parts is used if identical or similar parts to the parts for which you intend to register material information at the moment were registered and approved in the past. If you click Refer to/Copy Similar Parts, a pop-up window to inquire about similar parts to the parts to be registered at the moment appears. You may ②inquire about similar parts by using such inquiry conditions as Part No. and LGE Class Name. If you ③select similar parts to the parts to be registered at the moment, ④all sub parts of pertinent parts appear at the bottom of a pop-up window. If you select sub parts to be copied among them to ⑤Click Confirm Button, information on pertinent sub parts are reflected in a window to manage material information of parts.
  23. If ①information on selected parts is reflected, you may check if the entire information corresponds with the parts you intend to register at the moment before ② clicking Submit Button. If there are other contents, you may change them in person by clicking each cell. If you need to change information on homogeneous material, you may change homogeneous material or Homogeneous management info by using ③modify or Delete Button.
  24. It pertains to how to register material information by adding the sub part name. First of all, if you click ① Add sub part Name Button, a pop-up window to inquire about sub parts registered in HSMS is created. After ② entering the name of sub parts you intend to search, you may ③ Click search Button. If the name of sub parts is searched, you may add the name of sub parts by ④ clicking the sub parts to be added. If the name of sub parts you intend to search is not registered, you may register the name of required sub parts by ⑤ add sub part name at ther bottom of a pop-up window. As for the name of sub parts, other suppliers may use the name of sub parts registered by another supplier. Accordingly, make sure to add the name of sub parts only when it is necessary for the purpose of composition.
  25. As seen in the screen, if the name of selected sub parts is added, you need to enter ①sub part Code, Supplier and Weight. Of them, supplier and weight are mandatory entry items. At a time of entering weight, make sure that ② the total weight of multiple sub parts is the same as the weight of LGE Part No. that you intend to enter. If the total weight of Part No. and that of sub parts differ by 5% or more, it is impossible to submit data, so make sure to enter information on weight in the same way. ③If identical sub parts are supplied from two or more multi suppliers, make sure to pay attention at a time of entering information on weight. As seen in the screen, ④ you are receiving composition parts called MLCC from two different suppliers. In that case, ⑤ only 5g of MLCC registered earlier is used to calculate the total weight of composition parts, and ⑥ 6 g of MLCC registered later on is not used to calculate the total weight of sub parts. Accordingly, make sure to keep it in mind that ⑦ the total weight of the three sub parts registered above needs to be 30. If you have entered information on the supplier and weight of sub parts, you need to register information on homogeneous material. As for information on homogeneous material, you may search homogeneous material registered through the use of Assign homo. Material registered Button, and if there is no registered homogeneous material, you may implement new registration by using ⑨ register new homo. Material Button.
  26.  If there is registered homogeneous material, you may Assign homo. Material registeredto a pop-up window by clicking ① “Assign homo. Material registered ” Button. Search of registered homogeneous material is divided into ② material classficaiton, and it can be inquired through the use of the name of registered homogeneous material, suppliers and substance supplier. If you ③ click a checkbox for homogeneous material you intend to register before ④ clicking Confirm Button, homogeneous material is added to sub parts, and multiple ones are selected and added at a time. If you have finished adding the entire homogeneous materials, you need to enter the composition ratio of each homogeneous material. At a time of registering composition ratio, make sure that the total composition ratio of homogeneous material constituting sub parts becomes 100%. For example, ⑤MO-RES, the sub parts registered last, consists of three homogeneous materials including SCF, 331T and SWS. At that time, make sure that the total composition ratio of the homogeneous materials such as SCF, 331T and SWS becomes 100 %. If there is no homogeneous material you intend to search among registered homogeneous materials, you may Homogeneous management info through the use of register now homo. Material Button. How to Homogeneous management info is the same as what has been learned earlier. If you have finished registering the entire homogeneous materials, you have completed entry of sub parts and material.
  27. It pertains to ① exception clause. Exception clause Menu is used to register exceptions if 6 hazardous substances in RoHS restricted in RoHS within homogeneous material exceed permitted standards suggested by LGE. If 6 hazardous substances in RoHS are not included, you don’t have to establish a pertinent menu. If 6 hazardous substances in RoHS are included in homogeneous material, it is possible to check out the concentration of pertinent material, and ②NButton is activated in a space for exceptions so that you can click it. If you click N indicated in blue, ③ exceptions related to pertinent hazardous substances appear as a pop-up window. In that case, you may check ④ exceptions before clicking Confirm Button. If personnel with a supplier has difficulties in determining an exception he or she needs to choose, an appropriate exception can be selected through inquiry to a manager in charge of pertinent a division. If an exception has been selected, Result of Judgment changes into ⑤OK from NG.
  28. It pertains to Detailed Composition Menu. You may check if there exist restricted material, registered material, SVHC candidate material and authorization material in registered homogeneous material in ① Detailed Composition Menu. If ② restricted material exists among substances constituting pertinent parts, you need to enter restricted conditions. At a time of selecting restricted conditions, if you have selected No Restricted Condition, you need to enter Intended use, and if you have selected Other Condition, you need to enter the expected reg. date. If ③ registered material exists in pertinent parts, registered material is displayed, and you need to enter one item among Prior Registration No., Registration No. and The Expected reg. Date in addition to Intended use. Of substances constituting pertinent parts, if ④SVHC candidate material and authorization material exist, you need to enter Intended use in case of SVCH candidate material. As for authorization material, you need to enter one item among authorization No. Expected reg.date, Expected alternative date in addition to Intended use. As for restricted material, mandatory items need to be entered through the Detailed Composition Menu, but if SVHC candidate material, registered material and authorization material are included, mandatory items need to be entered at a time of registering new homogeneous material. If you have checked detailed composition, you may press ⑤Submit Button to request LGE to conduct review.
  29. ①Review Menu enables you to check material information entered prior to submission of data. ②If you click testing report, you may check information on testing report registered by sub part/homogeneous material, and you may collectively download the reports sheets. ③If you click Hazardous Substance List, you may check if Level A-II/B material is contained in parts in addition to their concentration
  30.  It pertains to forwarding to another company forwarding to another supplier is applied if a pertinent supplier has requested registration of wrong parts that cannot be registered, or if it is impossible to directly register material information as a primary partner purchases parts from a secondary partner before delivery to LG. In that case, it is possible to forwarding request supplier to register to a primary supplier or a secondary supplier. At a time of requesting forwarding, it is necessary to be familiar with the code of a supplier to which forwarding is implemented. As for forwarding to another supplier, you may click ①forwarding to Another maker and select ② a supplier and a Person in Charge pertaining to forwarding in a pop-up window before clicking ③forwarding Button.
  31. A company that has forwarding request supplier to register may check ① forwarded parts by inquiring about pertinent parts, and a company subject to forwarding may check ② part received by inquiring about parts information. A company subject to forwarding may enter material information in the same way that it has been requested by LGE to directly register pertinent parts.
  32. Chapter 4 pertains to 4M request and data submission. First of all, the meaning of 4M will be examined. 4M is a procedure to change one of four pieces of information starting with M (Man, Machine, Material & Method) in material information registered by a supplier if it has been modified. 4M occurring in HSMS takes place if material or Maker has been changed. If there is no change in material information including transformed shape or production area, 4M doesn’t have to be reported to HSMS. If material or Maker has been changed in some suppliers, many requests reject to LG Reviewer in order to modify material information. As mentioned earlier, if material or Maker has been changed, it needs to be handled through 4M, and if it is hard for a supplier to make a decision on whether to proceed with 4M, it needs to be inquired through a person in charge of Parts Development/Purchase/Parts Quality in LG before you make a decision on whether to proceed with 4M. It pertains to 4M Process. If 4M occurs, a person in charge with a supplier needs to notify it to a person in charge of Parts Development/Purchase in LG before establishing/submitting data through HSMS. A person in charge with LGE who has been requested by a supplier to modify 4M has a person in charge of purchase review the appropriateness of 4M transformation. If 4M transformation is appropriate, 4M is accepted. 4M Reviewer is designated to review/approve transformed material information. Personnel designated as a reviewer conducts review on material information submitted by a supplier, and if there is no problem, final approval is granted to finish 4M Process. If 4M has been mistakenly requested despite the fact that 4M doesn’t have to be proceeded, or if it has been rejected due to the fact that material information has not been appropriate, 4M needs to be requested again or 4M acceptance needs to be cancelled. As HSMS Status has been indicated by step, it needs to be referred to at a time of transforming 4M.
  33.  It pertains to how to confirm parts subject to 4M in addition to how to request 4M. Generally speaking, parts subject to 4M request are those approved by LGE Reviewer. If the current status of parts is “Approval,” 4M Report can be applied, and if it is not “Approval,” 4M Report is not permitted. In order to check if 4M request is possible with regard to parts, you may search ②parts for which you intend to request 4M in ① Harmful Substance Parts Information Registration Menu in HSMS. As a result of inquiry about parts, you may check ③the status as well as possibility of 4M request. If transformation occurred prior to the first approval on parts, and if HSMS Status is Requested, Reject and temp_New, a user with a supplier needs to consult with a person in charge of Parts Development/Purchase/Parts Quality in LG and reflect matters related to 4M before completion of submission of data. If data have been submitted for the purpose of the first approval on parts, and if it is “Data Submission, Under Certification Test & Under Approval” without approval from LG, it needs to be approved by a person in charge of Parts Development/Purchase/Parts Quality in LG before proceeding with 4M. If parts approval conditions are not met, parts are rejected, and you may submit the first data in reflection of matters related to 4M. If 4M has been already proceeded with regard to parts, and if 4M Data Submission and 4M Purchase Acceptance still remain, it is not approval status, so it is impossible to request 4M. In the same way as mentioned earlier, request for approval needs to made to a person in charge of Parts Development/Purchase/Parts Quality in LG before request for 4M. If you click ④Part No. or LGE Class Name with regard to parts for which you intend to request 4M transformation, 4M Transformation Request Screen appears.
  34. Prior to request for 4M transformation, you need to check approved material information. You may check out material information by using ① Parts information and ② review Menu. In the Parts information & review Menu, material information entered by personnel with a supplier in the process of registering material information as learned earlier is being registered. You may check out existing registered information by using each inquiry menu before making a decision on whether to request 4M. If it is necessary to request 4M, you may make a request by using ③4M Request of material, maker change Button at the top right. If the 4M Request of material, maker change Button is not displayed, you need to check ④ Progress in parts information. As 4M can be conducted only if HSMS Status is Approval as explained earlier, the pertinent button is displayed only if Progress is Approval. If the 4M Request of material, maker change Button is not displayed despite the fact that the Progress is Approval, you need to consult with HSMS Admin.
  35.  It pertains to how to establish 4M submission data. If you click 4M Request of material, maker change Button, it is changed to enable you to modify the entire parts information in the same way as the first registration of material information. ① You need to select 4M or ECO as 4M condition. ②After selecting 4M condition, you may make changes if mandatory entry items such as Weight and Maker Parts No. were modified. If you have modified mandatory information, you may enter ③ Reasons for 4M transformation. Only if you enter reasons for 4M transformation, a person in charge of purchase can check out the reasons at a time of submission of 4M data before approval or reject of 4M, so make sure to enter reasons for 4M transformation.   If you have completed entry of parts information, you need to select Purchase Acceptor who will approve/reject pertinent ④4M acceptance. If the present parts are delivered to multiple divisions in LG, a person in charge of purchase needs to be selected by division. If a person in charge of purchase is unknown, you need to consult with a person in charge of sale in your company to consult with a person in charge of purchase in LG or Division Admin before designation.
  36. If you have completed registration of a person in charge of purchase, you need to modify material information. How to modify material information is the same as how to register material information as learned earlier. If ①Name of sub parts, Supplier and Weight have been changed in registered information, you may make changes in person by clicking each cell. If you need to ②modify homogeneous material, you may click modify Button to transform into registered homogeneous material. You may consult with procedures to register material information as learned earlier in order to figure out how to homogeneous material registration l. If you have modified homogeneous material, you need to transform composition ratio accordingly, and ③ the total composition ratio of homogeneous material constituting sub parts needs to be 100 %.
  37. If homogeneous material has been changed, you need to check if 6 hazardous substance in RoHS and SVHC candidate material restricted in REACH are included in the changed homogeneous material. In order to check 6 hazardous substance in RoHS , you need to check if there are exceptions in ① Material Information among review Menus. In order to check if SVHC candidate material restricted in REACH has been included, you need to check concentration in ② Composition among review Menus. If 6 hazardous substance in RoHS and SVHC candidate material exist, you may submit data by selecting or registering exceptions and mandatory items in reference to a procedure to register material information as learned earlier.
  38. It pertains to a method of submission of 4M data and countermeasures at a time of rejection of 4M.  If you have finished entering 6 hazardous substance in RoHS , concentration of SVHC candidate material of REACH and mandatory items, you may submit 4M data. You may request personnel with LGE to review material information with regard to 4M transformation by using ① Submit(4M) Button at the top right. If you have completed submission of 4M data, a person in charge of purchase designated at a time of requesting 4M transformation accepts 4M, and if there is no problem, you may designate 4M Reviewer to request review on material information. If personnel designated as 4M Reviewer approves material information after review, 4M Process is finished. You may compare material information prior to 4M transformation with that after 4M transformation through ② review Menu by view other Version at the top right.
  39. If it is rejected by a person in charge of purchase / review on 4M, you may click ① status to check out reasons for rejection. You need to modify 4M submission data in reference to reasons for rejection if you submit 4M data again. After completion of modification, you may ② click “Submit(4M)” to request 4M transformation again. If 4M is not required, you need to cancel 4M, and you may cancel it by ③ clicking “Cancel 4M Request”. In that case, the status of parts returns to approval like before.
  40.  It pertains to redemand and related resolution. If REACH material is additionally announced, a supplier might need to update material information. At that time, the status of approved parts containing additionally announced REACH material returns to the status of redemand, and mandatory entry items corresponding to restricted material need to be additionally entered. Restricted material is subject to restricted use for the purpose of specific use with regard to REACH, and even the same material can or cannot be restricted according to Intended use. Accordingly, if restricted material is announced or if the Intended use of restricted material is omitted based on inquiry about restricted material by part in HSMS system, even the status of approved parts can be changed into the status of redemand. If you want to inquire about redemanded parts, you need to find out subject parts by ① selecting ‘redemand’ in status for the purpose of inquiry. If you click ②Part No. or Class Name of redemanded parts, you may indicate restriction conditions and Intended use of restricted material before submitting data. As redemanded parts were approved in the past, if a supplier submits data, they are automatically approved by HSMS system, and the status of parts is changed into ‘redemand_auto approve.’ Unlike approval on new parts, redemanded parts are automatically approved by the system instead of going through approval by a person in charge of approval, so you need to enter accurate information on restricted material or authorization material.
  41. It pertains to how to change information on redemanded parts. If you select redemanded Part No. or Class Name, you may go to a detailed screen. If you select ① Composition in review Menu, newly added restricted material is ② checked as seen in the screen, and mandatorily entered restriction conditions and Intended use are ③ indicated in yellow. A supplier selects restriction conditions according to Intended use of restricted material before indicating Intended use, and the purpose and Intended use of pertinent material need to be checked in advance. As for entry of information on restricted material, you may refer to explanation given in registration of material information of parts. If you finish entering mandatory information as requested by HSMS before submitting data, pertinent parts are automatically approved by HSMS.
  42. It pertains to renewal and modification of testing report. LGE checks out testing report at a time of reviewing material information of parts, and the effective period of testing report is 2 years. However, the effective period vary depending on divisions (6 months to 1 year), so make sure to check out the effective period of testing report of a pertinent division at a time of registering and renewing testing reporting. You may check testing report expected to expire in advance by using ① a menu to Expiration date of testing report among HSMS menus, and you may renew testing report prior to expiry to prevent rejection for a reason of expiry of the effective period testing report at a time of submission of data. You may inquire about testing report expected to expire soon through the use of Expiration date Menu. As ② the default value of the expected date of expiry is 10 days, you may extend or shorten the days for inquiry. You need to check out ③ homogeneous material with regard to testing report whose effective period has expired or is expected to expire before moving to ④‘homogeneous material registration ’ Screen to renew testing report .
  43. If you have checked out homogeneous material for which testing report needs to be renewed, you can move to ①Homogeneous Material Registration Menu. You may ③ search about pertinent homogeneous material by using the name of ②homogeneous material for which the effective period of previously inquired testing report is expected to expire. You may inquire about pertinent homogeneous material by pressing search Button and click ④ homogeneous material before moving to Homogeneous Material info. Screen.
  44. Prior to renewal of testing report , you need to check out status of parts using pertinent homogeneous material. If you click ① Parts using this material Button at the top right in a screen to conduct detailed registration of homogeneous material, Parts using this material window appears as ② a pop-up window to enable you to inquire about all parts using pertinent homogeneous material as well as the status of parts.

If you have checked out information on parts where currently registered homogeneous material is used, you need to select “Revision” at the top or change testing report Button in order to update information on testing report and renew attached files. If ① the same testing report is re-registered due to no change in analytical results, ② testing report needs to be modified through the use of change testing report Button. If changes occurred in analytical results or substance, ③ testing report needs to be modified through the use of Revision Button. Although you changed testing report by using one between change testing report Button and Revision Button, you need to register new testing report by using Registration Menu at the top right of testing report. If you changed testing report by using Revision Button, you need to modify changed information by using Level A-I, Level A-II/B and Substance Name Tab. You may refer to steps to Homogeneous management info for how to make changes.
  46. It pertains to how to inquire about and modify parts that request Data Cleansing within HSMS. Data Cleansing is required if the total weight of parts does not correspond with that of sub parts and if parts whose total composition ratio of homogeneous material by sub part is not 100% exist. If the total weight of parts does not correspond with that of sub parts, and if parts whose total composition ratio of homogeneous material by sub part is not 100% exist, the system stops a supplier from submitting data at the moment. Accordingly, the menu aims to modify inaccurate material information on parts registered prior to 2009. Parts that require Data Cleansing can be inquired in ① Modification (Weight / Ratio) Menu. If ② Division / affiliate, supplier or Part No. is known, subject parts can be ③ inquired through the use of Part No. ④The result of inquiry is indicated as seen in the screen, and a pertinent Part No. is inquired if the total weight of parts does not correspond with that of sub parts or if parts whose total composition ratio of homogeneous material by sub part is not 100% exist. If you click ⑤ LGE Part No. or LGE Class Name with regard to parts subject to cleansing of material information, a pop-up window to modify material information appears.
  47. material information is modified in two steps. First, if the total weight of parts does not correspond with that of sub parts, inaccurate data are modified. Second, if parts whose total composition ratio of homogeneous material by sub part is not 100% exist, inaccurate data are modified. First of all, it pertains to how to modify inaccurate data if the total weight of sub parts does not correspond with that of sub parts. As you can see, ① weight indicated in parts information is 272.5, and ② it is not identical with 269.8, the total weight of sub parts. ③ You need to change the inaccurate weight of sub parts to 272.5. If the composition ratio of homogeneous material by sub part does not have to be modified, you may press ④ Save Button to complete correction of material information, and if the composition ratio of homogeneous material by sub part needs to be corrected, you need to save modified information on weight by using ⑤Save (Temp) Button and move to a screen to modify the composition ratio of homogeneous material by sub part by using ⑥ Ratio (Homogeneous Material) Button.
  48. It pertains to how to correct inaccurate data if the total composition ratio of homogeneous material by sub part is not 100%. You may check out if it has been entered to make the composition ratio of homogeneous material within sub parts 100 % through the use of Ratio Button. As a result of adding composition ratio of each homogeneous material, if the composition ratio is not 100 % or if it is exceeded, the inaccurate composition ratio of homogeneous material needs to be modified to make the total composition ratio of homogeneous material 100%. As you can see in the screen, ① sub parts 1 consist of one homogeneous material, and the composition ratio of pertinent homogeneous material needs to be ②100 %, but it has been registered as 94.85 %, which is inaccurate. ③ sub parts 2 consist of two homogeneous materials, and the total composition ratio of homogeneous material needs to be 100 %, but it has been registered as ④ 5.16 %, which is inaccurate. Inaccurate information is corrected to make ⑤ the total composition ratio of homogeneous material constituting each sub part 100 %. If data need to be saved in the course of correction, you may press Save (Temp) Button to save data, and you may save data by pressing ⑥ Save Button after final correction. If you press Save Button, the data are automatically saved, and the screen automatically disappears.
