1. Love The Fun Of Assembling Model Cars
The most important piece of gear you should have is a decent hobby knife. The colour didn't turn out
right and the surface still was not as smooth as I desired. You're ready to carve the design once the
flesh is removed.
When I was young I have memories of my best friends Dad who would spend hours working on his
beautiful meticulously maintained model train display. It was his passion he spent hours working on
it pouring over every detail. I have found five greats Christmas gift ideas for model train collectors
whether they are just starting out or life long hobbyists.
Moreover, in order for a person to get into a hobby such as this, you must also buy you a hobby
knife. Many people that build models sometimes buy paint as well to paint the pieces with; however,
if this is your first model, then you should concentrate on assembling the model car first before you
try painting one.
For this project you will need: one medium sized pumpkin, a serrated kitchen knife, ice cream scoop,
a linoleum cutting knife or craft knife, newspaper, and a large mixing bowl. Set the newspaper on
the surface where you will be carving the pumpkin. Using a pencil, draw a circle around the top of
the pumpkin where the stem is. With the kitchen knife, cut off the top of the pumpkin. Start to scoop
out the inner flesh with the ice cream scoop and place into the mixing bowl. You can use the flesh in
that pumpkin pie. If you love roasted pumpkin seeds, include those in the flesh for later separation.
Once the flesh is removed, you are ready to carve the design.
For best results and easier cleanup, cover your work area with a few layers of newspaper or a large
fabric or plastic drop cloth prior to starting this project. Make sure the clear glass cake stand and
dome are clean and free of any debris. Lightly sand the outside only of the glass with fine grit
sandpaper to "rough" it up a bit. Wipe away any dust from the glass with a tack cloth or other soft
cloth.
Once you cut the slot into the plastic lid, then you can also paint that as well as well (if desired).
Allow the paint for the lid time to dry as well.
This project involves glues, spray paints, and tin. Cover your workspace with a drop cloth or
sufficient amount of newspaper. Make sure your work area is well ventilated, such as an outdoors
area, or wear a paper mask for protection. And, always use caution when using sharp objects like
craft tin and craft knives. Safety first!
Sharpen plane blades and woodcarving gouges on an oil-stone as for chisels. Check the angles of the
cutting edge of a plane with a protractor or use a honing guide. Sharpen the outer bevel of a gouge
with a side to side movement on the oil-stone. Rub the inside with a tapered slip-stone.
TIP: Due to the highly patterned and dramatic lampshade design, a basic blank or soft pink ceramic
lamp base is recommended. Consider painting an existing lamp base for a perfect refurbished style.
Just take your time and let your imagination be your guide. Make sure that you are ready for these
changes to be long-term. The bloom is one of the simplest forms of bead you could make with
