9. The Raspberry Pi is a series of credit card –sized
single-board computers developed in Wales, UK by
the Raspberry Pi Foundation.
Intention of promoting the teaching of basic
computer science in schools and developing
countries.
Its a capable little PC which can be used for many
of the things that your desktop PC does.
The Raspberry Pi is cheap enough to buy by almost
an amount of 2500/-.
It can be plugged into your TV along with a
keyboard, mouse and other PC accessories.
10. Eben Upton first came up with the idea for
Raspberry Pi in 2006.
Upton wanted to create a cheap, easily
programmable computer that would bring
back the experimental spirit of an earlier era
of computing.
The main idea behind creating the device is
that kids could buy and learn programming
and something about hardware.
Need to invent a technology that anyone
would tamper with it without fear of expensive
mistakes.
This technology is inspired by Acorn's BBC
Micro of 1981.
11. BBC micro also known as BBC Microcomputer
System, was a series of micro computers and
associated peripherals designed and built by
Acorn Computer.
It was designed with an emphasis on
education.
It was notable for its ruggedness,
expandability and quality of it OS.
15. It doesn’t supports traditional versions of
Windows.
Main reason behind was PI has only 512 MB
RAM, that's why the inventors shift their
eye from Windows to Linux.
So Microsoft offers a free edition of
Windows 10, known as Windows 10 IoT
Core, that runs natively on the Raspberry
Pi 2.
16. Once the board is received, accessories can
connected to it.
We only need MICRO USB cable for power up the PI.
HARD DISK DRIVE is optional because it supports SD
card as a secondary storage device.
Also OS is installed in SD card.
We can shift to another OS Only by changing the SD
card.

27. It can make your Old TV in to a smart TV.
You can play Videos, 3D Games, Music, Browse Internet
and much more.
Raspberry Pi can Act as Full HD Media Player.
Its a Mini Computer which just cost Rs.2,500/-
You can connect a Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse and use it
as a normal computer.
Its Graphics Capabilities is better than Apple Products.
Low power consumption
Doesn’t require extensive cooling system.
Small in size
SD cards can easily be switched to change function of
device.
28. It does not have a Hard Disk
associated with it.
The RAM is a POP package on
top of the SoC, so it’s not
removable or swappable.
There is no Real time clock
associated with the board.
Processor is not so fast.
29. Raspberry Pi is an innovative product.
The device can surely help anyone who really
wants to learn electronics and computers.
Amazing piece of hardware because of the
combination of the features of a traditional
computer and an embedded device.
Supporting computer OS like Linux and providing
simple I/O lines i.e. the GPIO makes it perfect.
Sheer number of users and fan base support the
fact that the device can see a great future ahead.
