A. Standard of Competence
1. Understanding the meaning of transactional and interactional conversations in
communication with the nearest environment.
B. Basic Competence
1.2 Responding the meaning in conversation transactional (to get things done) and
interpersonal that use different language spoken accurately, fluently and thankful for
communicating with the nearest environment that involves speech acts: asking and
giving information, expressing apologize and gratitude expressions.
C. Indicators
Indicators Character Building
1. The students are able to identify the
expressions of apologize.
2. The students are able to use
expressions of apologize.

D. Learning Material
Expressing Apologize
Expressing apologize is to tell someone that you are sorry for having done something.
Making apologies:
1. I’m sorry
2. I apologize
3. I do apologize
4. I’m terribly sorry
5. Pardon me
Accepting apologies:
1. It doesn’t matter
2. Never mind
3. Don’t worry
4. That’s all right
5. It’s ok. But don’t do it next time.
Example:
Situation : Sarah forget to water the flower. She say sorry to her mother.
Mother : Sarah, have you watered the flower?
Sarah : I’m sorry mom. I forget to do it.
Mother : It’s ok. But don’t do it next time.
Sarah : Sure. I promise

G. Instructional Procedure (Three-phase Technique)
1. Pre-activities
a. The teacher greets the students
b. The teacher asks the students to take a pray before opening the lesson
c. The teacher checks the present list
d. Brainstorming (remind the students about previous lesson)
e. The teacher asks some questions related to the material. (What do you say when
you come late?)
f. The teacher writes down the words mentioned by students on the white board.
g. The teacher gives a game for the students before telling the topic of discussion.
h. The teacher tells the students about the topic which will be discussed.
2. Main-activities
a. The teacher gives the explanation about expressing apologize.
b. The teacher asks the students to listen some expression of expressing apologize.
c. The teacher gives some examples about the material to make it more clear.
d. The teacher gives students few minutes for asking about the material.
e. The teacher gives the students’ worksheet. (Appendix 1)
f. The teacher checks the students answer.
3. Post-activities
a. The teacher gives students few minutes for asking about the material.
b.The teacher asks the students to conclude the material.
c. The teacher makes conclusion of the material.
d.The teacher gives a motivation for the students.
e. The teacher closes the lesson.

Darul Ulum Palangka Raya Subject : English Grade/Semester : VII/I Theme : Expressing Apologize Skill : Listening Time Allocation : 2x40 Minutes Day / date : Thursday, October 24th, 2013 Meeting : 4th A. Standard of Competence 1. Understanding the meaning of transactional and interactional conversations in communication with the nearest environment. B. Basic Competence 1.2 Responding the meaning in conversation transactional (to get things done) and interpersonal that use different language spoken accurately, fluently and thankful for communicating with the nearest environment that involves speech acts: asking and giving information, expressing apologize and gratitude expressions. C. Indicators Indicators Character Building 1. The students are able to identify the expressions of apologize. 2. The students are able to use expressions of apologize. Tolerance, discipline, swat and curiosity
  • 2. 2 D. Learning Material Expressing Apologize Expressing apologize is to tell someone that you are sorry for having done something. Making apologies: 1. I’m sorry 2. I apologize 3. I do apologize 4. I’m terribly sorry 5. Pardon me Accepting apologies: 1. It doesn’t matter 2. Never mind 3. Don’t worry 4. That’s all right 5. It’s ok. But don’t do it next time. Example: Situation : Sarah forget to water the flower. She say sorry to her mother. Mother : Sarah, have you watered the flower? Sarah : I’m sorry mom. I forget to do it. Mother : It’s ok. Instructional Procedure (Three-phase Technique) 1. Pre-activities a. The teacher greets the students b. The teacher asks the students to take a pray before opening the lesson c. The teacher checks the present list d. Brainstorming (remind the students about previous lesson) e. The teacher asks some questions related to the material. (What do you say when you come late?) f. The teacher writes down the words mentioned by students on the white board. g. The teacher gives a game for the students before telling the topic of discussion. h. The teacher tells the students about the topic which will be discussed. 2. Main-activities a. The teacher gives the explanation about expressing apologize. b. The teacher asks the students to listen some expression of expressing apologize. c. The teacher gives some examples about the material to make it more clear. d. The teacher gives students few minutes for asking about the material. e. The teacher gives the students’ worksheet. (Appendix 1) f. The teacher checks the students answer. 3. Post-activities a. The teacher gives students few minutes for asking about the material. b.The teacher asks the students to conclude the material. c.
