MORE BACKGROUND ● Sometimes I hear in newspaper that young people haven't Desktop or Laptop PC, but have Smartphone or Tablet. ● I think that need promote Opensource OS to younger age people, we must think about how to run Opensource OS on Tablets. ● Secondhand Tablets is more cheeper today. – Some tablets can get costs under 10000 yen
  21. 21. BUT, MOST TABLET OS ISN'T HACKABLE ● iOS is closed source (except some components), and locked ● Android is opensource but most of machines isn't firmware rewritable – sometime encounts GPL violation, Binary blobs, and more more difficult tasks.. ● Most Windows Tablet is nearly as PC (hacker- friendly), but not well used in Linux.
  22. 22. PROBLEM : OPENSOURCE TABLET WINDOW MANAGERS? ● KDE Plasma Mobile ● GNOME 3 – KDE and GNOME is beatiful, but it seems heavy for older Tablets. ● Others? – Enlightment? – Do you know about this?
