1．Physical Connection for VISTA 1600C
� Open the VISTA 1600C packet. Take out the serial-port console cable
accessory with the equipment.
� Connect the DB-9 plug of the serial-port console cable with the DB-9 plug
of the computer serial-port. Make sure they are firmly connected.

� Connect the RJ-45 plug of the serial-port console cable with the CONSOLE
port of VISTA 1600C.

2．Configuration of console setting
� Start the computer;
� Run the HyperTerminal. Click “Start” — “All Program” — “Accessories” —
“Communication” — “Hyper Terminal”;

� Input this connection name in popped-out window, such as “VISTA 1600C”.
Then click “OK”.

� Choose the serial-port number in popped-out window, such as “COM1”.
Then click “OK”.

� Configure the properties of the chosen serial-port in the popped-out
configuration window. Detailed configuration is as Figure 2-4. Then click
“OK” to enter the interface of Command Configuration of VISTA 1600C.

� Log in the interface of VISTA 1600C OLT command line through the
network management IP address of TELNET OLT. The default IP address is
192.168.0.200 .
