1. Secular Humanism

1.) What practical steps could be taken to build a relationship with a follower of his worldview who
might be a co-worker, neighbor etc.?
I guess my first step would be to let them know they are loved unconditionally by me, as well as by the
God I worship. By showing people the love God has placed in my heart and not condemning them goes
along way with any world view that is not Christian. As Scripture states, it is the goodness of God that
leads man to repentance. Also having restraint and not be quickly offended, remembering 1Corinthains
1:18, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing. (Consider, Dr. Lew Weider and
Dr. Ben Gutierrez) We as Christians need to know when to walk away and pray so the Holy Spirit can act
in a person's life.
2.) What barriers/hindrances would exist with presenting the Christian gospel to a person from this
worldview?
Secular Humanist does not believe there is a God, they believe in nature only. They also believe morals
are set by society and culture. With their none belief of God, they also don't believe in soul and spirit.
With this thought process in Secular Humanism the word of God isn't considered a reliable source on
how to live your life, this I believe would be the greatest hindrance, along with them not believing in
soul and spirit. ( The Popular Encyclopedia of Apologetics Ed Hindson, Ergun Caner )
3.) What personal challenges might you have with presenting the gospel?
My personal challenge in presenting the gospel to a Secular Humanist would be frustration. I see some
of their beliefs are evident of how Satan blinds people into believing things that are so ridiculous. I
would half to be in much prayer before attempting to deliver the gospel message to such a person,
along with asking the Holy Spirit to convict their hearts before even attempting to witness to a person
with these beliefs. I would also half to keep the mindset of the spiritual war involved in witnessing to a
person who has been blinded and not make it personal, always remembering who is behind all false
belief systems.
