the concern and well-
wishing of the Prophet.

Messenger of Allah up to that time) would be faithfully observed
till the expiry of the term of the treaties.

prayers and paying of Zakah as due.

• Honest critical study of Islam by unbeliever is allowed but
vilification is not --- self respect
• Five promises as a reward of Jihad by Muslims ----
Enemies will be punished by them rather than natural
calamities, disgrace of polytheist, Allah’s help, soothing of
heart and removal of anger, chance of repentance to arrogant.
• Maintenance of a mosque include cleaning, repairs and
Zikr of Allah.
• Characteristics of people who ten God’s house ---
believe in Allah and day of Judgment, establish Salah
and Zakat and do not fear anybody other than Allah
• Merits of tending a mosque --- Superior to Jihad ???
• Rewards of Jihad & migration --- higher ranks, Allah’s
mercy & pleasure , eternity in Paradise.
Ruku No 3:
• The real bond is the bond of Islam and Iman, all other
bonds lineage and country must be
sacrificed for it ---- touchstone of True faith
• Punishment of renouncing Jihad(striving) due to worldly
bonds and material comfort.
• What are our excuses? ---- wealth, family, job, health,
lack of time.
• Battle of Hunain ---- Muslims were loosing ground but
Perseverance of Prophet(SAW)
• Victory and defeat are not due to quantitative supremacy but
from Allah(SWT) --- to increase humbleness of believers
• The spiritual filth is Shirk. Unclean in their creeds, morals,
deeds, and in their ways of ignorance.
• Fear of economic hardship and poverty due to cutting off non
believers economic support.
• Allah will enrich you out of His bounty ----- Tawakul Ilallah
Ruku No 4:
• This is the aim of Jihad with the Jews and the
Christians and it is not to force them to become
Muslims and adopt the `Islamic Way of Life.' But to pay
Jizyah in order to put an end to their independence and
supremacy .
• Jizyah is money paid by those non-Muslims who live
as Zimmis (proteges) in an Islamic State, in exchange
for the security and protection granted to them by it.
• Accosting Muslims and describing the attitudes of Jews
and Christians, an admonition not to repeat those mistakes.
• Taken their scholars and monks as their Lords ---- Hadith
of Adi bin Hatim --- Check ourselves
• Allah’s promise that He will perfect His
light(Quran/Sunnah) ---- Propagation of Islam
• Admonition to those who do not pay Zakat - (Hadith that it
will become collar of snake for neck)

• Attitude of trickiness to change Sharia’s injunctions ----
evasiveness ---- Intercalation
• Allah favor the lunar calendar ---- Ramadan and Haj can
come in different seasons.
• Sacred months are Zil-Q`adah, Zil-Hajjah, Muharram and
Rajab.
• Real injunction is not to fulfill the counting but to obey Allah’s
command.
• Trying to make Haram into Halal and Halal into Halal is an
act of unbeliever.
• Islam forbids unjust killings ---- Islam did not propagate
through sword
• Reasons of widespread propagation of Islam --- Cultural
and social equality, legal equality, chastity of character,
transparency in dealings, acts of grace &
pardonableness, sword is used to forbid evil.

are not ready for any trials and not eager to understand
deen. They regarded payment of Zakat as fine.
• Profile of Bedouin believers --- Regard their spending as
a mean to draw near to Allah(SWT)
• First and foremost ---- Allah is pleased with them and
they are well pleased with Allah.
• Hypocrites will be punished twice here and Hereafter.

those in forefront among Ansar and Migrants.
 Paradise bargain --- In exchange of Paradise spend wealth and life in
seeking pleasure of Allah SWT.

Sunnah; Compassion and kindness, the concern over misguidance and

Resisting Mushrikeen and Munafiqeen

  • 2. It is vital to resist and make jihad against the mushrikeen of Makkah , people of the book and the munafiqoon. It is also vital to prepare and nurture the weak Muslims(tarbiyah). Command to do jihad against. Mushrikeen of Arab. Ayah 1-28 Command to do jihad against Jews and Christians. Ayah 29-35 Encouragement to make Jihad and a warning of replacement in the face of abandoning it. Ayah 36-41 Command to make jihad against the munafiqoon. Ayah 42-127 Ayah 128-129 :9‫سورۃ‬‫بة‬‫و‬‫ت‬‫ل‬‫ا‬ Command to appreciate the concern and well- wishing of the Prophet.

  • 4. • Reasons of no Bismillah in the start of the surah. • A declaration of disavowal with polytheist ---- proclamation of withdrawal, dis connection • Shirk Cleansing --- Purification of Arabian Peninsula from Shirk • Four clauses of proclamation --- (1) No one who rejects Islam shall enter Paradise. (2) No mushrik should perform Haj after this. (3) It is forbidden to move round the Ka`abah in a naked state. (4) The terms of the treaties which are still in force (i.e. with those who have not broken their treaties with the Messenger of Allah up to that time) would be faithfully observed till the expiry of the term of the treaties. Ruku No 1:
  • 5. • Three conditions of entering Islamic brotherhood ----- Repentance over the beliefs in the past, establishing prayers and paying of Zakah as due. • Abu bakr(RA) declaration of Jihad against those who refused to pay Zakat. • The principles of International relations. Honor commitments. • Teaching Islam after giving Asylum. Faith Salah Zakat
  • 6. • Breaking pledge is characteristic of hypocrites. • Fearing any body other than Allah in a manner that it obstruct fulfillment of injunctions of sharia is not what a true believing Muslim will do. • Islam does not allow offensive war. Purpose of Jihad is to eradicate Kufr and give unbeliever a chance to repent. • Three conditions for citizenship in Islamic state ---- Faith, Salah and Zakat. Faith Salah Zakat Ruku No 2:
  • 7. • Honest critical study of Islam by unbeliever is allowed but vilification is not --- self respect • Five promises as a reward of Jihad by Muslims ---- Enemies will be punished by them rather than natural calamities, disgrace of polytheist, Allah’s help, soothing of heart and removal of anger, chance of repentance to arrogant.
  • 8. • Maintenance of a mosque include cleaning, repairs and Zikr of Allah. • Characteristics of people who ten God’s house --- believe in Allah and day of Judgment, establish Salah and Zakat and do not fear anybody other than Allah • Merits of tending a mosque --- Superior to Jihad ??? • Rewards of Jihad & migration --- higher ranks, Allah’s mercy & pleasure , eternity in Paradise. Ruku No 3:
  • 9. • The real bond is the bond of Islam and Iman, all other bonds lineage and country must be sacrificed for it ---- touchstone of True faith • Punishment of renouncing Jihad(striving) due to worldly bonds and material comfort. • What are our excuses? ---- wealth, family, job, health, lack of time.
  • 10. • Battle of Hunain ---- Muslims were loosing ground but Perseverance of Prophet(SAW) • Victory and defeat are not due to quantitative supremacy but from Allah(SWT) --- to increase humbleness of believers • The spiritual filth is Shirk. Unclean in their creeds, morals, deeds, and in their ways of ignorance. • Fear of economic hardship and poverty due to cutting off non believers economic support. • Allah will enrich you out of His bounty ----- Tawakul Ilallah Ruku No 4:
  • 11. • This is the aim of Jihad with the Jews and the Christians and it is not to force them to become Muslims and adopt the `Islamic Way of Life.' But to pay Jizyah in order to put an end to their independence and supremacy . • Jizyah is money paid by those non-Muslims who live as Zimmis (proteges) in an Islamic State, in exchange for the security and protection granted to them by it.
  • 12. • Accosting Muslims and describing the attitudes of Jews and Christians, an admonition not to repeat those mistakes. • Taken their scholars and monks as their Lords ---- Hadith of Adi bin Hatim --- Check ourselves • Allah’s promise that He will perfect His light(Quran/Sunnah) ---- Propagation of Islam • Admonition to those who do not pay Zakat - (Hadith that it will become collar of snake for neck) • Reason of branding forehead, sides and back(wrinkles on the forehead, turn to side and back) Ruku No 5:
  • 13. • Attitude of trickiness to change Sharia’s injunctions ---- evasiveness ---- Intercalation • Allah favor the lunar calendar ---- Ramadan and Haj can come in different seasons. • Sacred months are Zil-Q`adah, Zil-Hajjah, Muharram and Rajab. • Real injunction is not to fulfill the counting but to obey Allah’s command. • Trying to make Haram into Halal and Halal into Halal is an act of unbeliever.
  • 14. • Islam forbids unjust killings ---- Islam did not propagate through sword • Reasons of widespread propagation of Islam --- Cultural and social equality, legal equality, chastity of character, transparency in dealings, acts of grace & pardonableness, sword is used to forbid evil.
  • 15. • Background of the battle of Tabuk ---- Ghasani tribes, Byzantine ruler Harqul, Monk Abu Amir • Instigation for Jihad ---- Even in bad circumstances(drought, hot summer, power of Harqul) • The root of all crimes is regard for Dunya. • Fard e Ain or Fard Kifayah -- Jihad/ establishment of Deen -- Helping Allah and His messenger, An opportunity for us. Do we avail it? Ruku No 6:
  • 16. • Doing good in all conditions whether heavy or light ---- Do we wait for easiness to do good? • Six groups of people in Madinah ---- who get ready for Jihad without hesitation, who hesitate at first but later joined , who have some genuine excuse, who were procrastinating/lazy, hypocrites and spy hypocrites. • Example of Abu Bakr(RA) ---- First to submit, tranquility and Tawakul Ilallah. • Excuses from hypocrites ---- swearing

  • 20. • Profile of Hypocrites ---- Forbid good and enjoin evil , do not spend any thing for good. • Punishment for forbidding good and enjoining evil ---- Allah forgot them, fire of Hell • Materialistic blessings of this world does not means that one has Allah’s pleasure. • Profile of true believers ----- Enjoin good and forbid evil, Salah, Zakat , obedience of Allah and His messenger(SAW) • Promise of Paradise and Allah’s pleasure. Ruku No 9:

ICNA Sisters' Wing • Insulting Rasolallah(SAW) is kufr. • Change of policy against hypocrites --- No leniency, do not trust them, no cover up, publicize their treachery, do not make them witness or consultant, limited relationships. • Ungratefulness of Hypocrites ---- No gratitude, thankless wretch • Story of Thalabah ibn Hatib Al Ansari ----- Miserliness • Sadqat of poor believers at the time of Battle of Tabuk. • Order of not to make request for forgiveness of Hypocrites. Ruku No 10:
  • 22. Action Items Ruku 1-10  Cancellation of contracts --- Prayer and zakat, punctuality  Fighting the treacherous infidels - Strive for Islam according to ability  The value of sacrifice in the path of Allah --- Thoughts, conscience and mutual relations all should be focus on Allah  Allah’s help and support --- No flexibility on principles  Intellectual deviations and practical misguidance ----- Strive to do good in all conditions whether heavy or light and don’t wait until easiness.

Action Items Ruku 1-10  The truth of hypocrites' false apologies ---- Adopt the path of determination(Azeemah)  Comment on the hypocrites and expenditure of zakat - worry to always please Allah SWT  Characteristics and Consequences of Hypocrites and Believers --- Love and obedience of the Messenger SAW  Hypocrisy --- spending for the sake of being neglected personal interests and expediency  Evaluation of those left behind --- Loyalty to Allah instead of ego
  • 24. • The fire of Hell is much hotter than the hotness in this world. --- Our clothes • Laughing in this world and crying in Hereafter. • Order of not to participate in funeral prayers of hypocrites. • Wealth, kids and prosperity are blessings from Allah(SWT) but if they became hinder in way of obedience of Allah , they became fitna. • Excuses of people who are well off. Ruku No 11:
  • 25. • Acceptable excuses - sick, handicapped, weak due to old age and poor(Condition of sincerity) • The reality and truth of hypocrites excuses were revealed in open. • Feelings of those who were real handicapped ----- Jamuh(RA) and his companions(Check ourselves) ---- Medical certificates and our excuses. • The criterion of acceptance of excuses and repentance is future conduct. Ruku No 12:
  • 26. • Response to hypocrites excuses and swearing's ---- Ignore them. • Bedouins are more strict in disbelief and hypocrisy. They are not ready for any trials and not eager to understand deen. They regarded payment of Zakat as fine. • Profile of Bedouin believers --- Regard their spending as a mean to draw near to Allah(SWT)
  • 27. • First and foremost ---- Allah is pleased with them and they are well pleased with Allah. • Hypocrites will be punished twice here and Hereafter. • Intermixing of good deeds with evil ---- repent, give Sadqa to cleanse and purify, Supplication • Story of Abu Lubaba and his six companions ---- Admitting and tying themselves up to the pillar of Prophet’s mosque ---- Human error, weakness of intent, absorption in Dunya.
  • 28. • Criterion to Judge validity of excuses ---- Open and clear confession with sincerity , previous record to check habitual offender, watch future conduct, repentance and offering Sadqa. • Masjid Zarar and monk Abu Amir’s character ----- Reasons of building this mosque • Which mosque is founded on piety? ---- Masjid Nabawi or Masjid Quba • Clarity and purity of intention is the foundation of Deen.
  • 29. • Ayah of Allegiance --- Ayat Baiah ---- Ayah 111 • Nine attributes of believers who fulfill their pledge /transaction with Allah(SWT) • Do not ask for the forgiveness of Polytheists ---- Example of Ibrahim(AS) • Announcement of acceptance of repentance from Ka`ab bin Malik(RA), Hilal bin Umayyah(RA) and Murarah bin Rubai(RA) • Details of this story and lessons for us in this story ----- Importance of truth, sincerity of intention, collectiveness, love for each other, obedience to Rasolallah(SAW), procrastination. • What were the tests and trails? Ruku No 14:
  • 30. • Advice to Muslims --- Observe Taqwa and be with those true in word and deed • Completion of faith is possible only when Rasolallah(SAW) becomes dearest to us than our own life. • The collective and individual obligation of acquiring religious knowledge and its etiquette • Purpose of Islamic education. • Responsibility after acquiring religious understanding ---- warn people so that they may avoid erroneous attitude Ruku No 15:
  • 31. • Following the ordinance of war is necessary. • Faith increases by recitation of Quranic Ayahs. • Characteristics of Rasolallah(SAW) ---- Love, affection, sympathy and an earnest desire for wellbeing of Ummat ---- Our sufferings were hard on Him and He craves for our welfare , tender and merciful to believers. • A principle for Daee ---- Invite with love and affection, if you face aversions and hardships, place your trust on Allah. Ruku No 16:
  • 32. Action Items Ruku 11-16  Excusers --- Avoid carelessness and develop a true passion for Dawah.  The psychological picture of the hypocrites --- Investing money, time, and resources in the way of Allah  Different sections of Islamic society (Foremost, hypocrites, mixed action ones, dubious issues ones, enemies of Islam) ---- Adopt attitude of those in forefront among Ansar and Migrants.  Paradise bargain --- In exchange of Paradise spend wealth and life in seeking pleasure of Allah SWT.  Work with the truthful --- Cooperate with the true people  Permanent Movement of Jihad --- The virtues of the true Daee in light of Sunnah; Compassion and kindness, the concern over misguidance and well being
  • 33. Let's evaluate our selves Am I sure? Yes No mostly to some extent I love my home & family more than Allah & His Rasool SAW I have Consciousness about purpose of life. Engagement at home makes me burdened to work for Allah’s deen. There are doubts in my heart about the work of religion I love those who are working for establishment of deen. I follow the path of Allah faithfully disregarding my ego and personal gain. I participate practically and whole heartedly in collective efforts for propagation of deen. I repent by shedding tears over the shortcomings in the works of the religion I offer obstacle to evils I witness in front of me. I realize necessity of religious education and support its establishment.
