2.  Dubai-based port development company DP World
has recently released plans to add a third berth to its
London Gateway super-port. The announcement
was made in mid-February by Patrick McLoughlin,
MP, the UK Secretary of State for Transport.
Scheduled to come into operation in the second half
of 2016, the new maritime infrastructure will
dramatically increase port capacity in the London
region. The expansion is expected to result in
hundreds of new jobs for local residents, while
improving import companies’ access to the 16 million
consumers who live in the wider area.

3.  Established in 2013, DP World’s London
Gateway is widely regarded as one of the
most technologically advanced ports in the
world. Owing to its efficient operation and
proximity to desirable markets, it has already
proven to be a crucial part of the UK’s long-
term economic development efforts, despite
being less than two years old.
The recent success and future growth of the
London Gateway project serves as a strong
