Maths lesson: Turkish lesson
In this grade lesson plan is especially focus on
natural numbers. Students can learn reading
and writing three- digit natural numbers and
saying name and place value of digits.
Students compare numbers in terms of
smallness equality and greatness by using
symbols. By using objects students skip
counting by 6s, 7s, 8s and 9s. With three-
digit numbers students make subtractions,
multiplication, addition and division and
solve problems about them. Students create a
pattern with numbers and shapes. Also they
recognize geometric figures and shapes and
then calculate the length of perimeter and
area. Students measure lengths, weights,
liquids of volume and times.
Students can read a Turkish text and
understand it. Also they can ask 5W and
1H questions about the text and answer
them. Students determine the main idea
and the main sense of a text or a poem.
They recognize syllable, word and
sentence. Students distinguish
synonyms antonyms and homophones
from each other. Students can write
according to spelling rules and using
punctuation marks. They can exemplify

byword. Also they learn adjectives,

The 3rd grade English Language Teaching
curriculum is based on the achievements
targeted at the 2nd grade.The subjects in
the 2nd grade curriculum are expanded so
that students use English in the classroom
and outside the classroom.
The themes used to achieve 3rd grade
ELT curriculum are numbers (11-20) ,family
members and kinship terms, adjectives
related to physical qualities,feelings ,toys
and games with shapes and sizes ,house
and rooms with the objects,city with the
names of the buildings,transportation
vehicles,weather conditions,nature with
the names of animals and their
quantity and colors.
Through these terms ,it is aimed to learn
basic words about objects,places and
beings which are important in daily life of
students.It is also planned to use target
language through fun audio,visual and
audiovisual tools and enriched game-
based activities
Communicative approach has been
adopted in which students use listening
and speaking skills predominantly.These
communicative methods are reflected in
the programme with game-based
activities,singing,painting,cutting and
pasting.
In the 4th grade which includes 9 years
old students, the focus is primarily on
developing listening and speaking skills.
Therefore, activities involving reading
and writing are limited to the word level.
Students are continuously exposed to
English through audio and visual
materials.
In order to create a link between
language learning and daily life, the
themes such as food and drinks, cartoon
characters, my friend, my clothes and my
day reflect ideas and issues that are
familiar to young learners. Also students
recognize numbers twenty through one
hundred, simple classroom instructions
and locations of people and things.
Students can ask and answer questions
about people, their nationalities and
